I never watched Quxxn. Can't tell you why. She must have never come up on my radar. I used to watch a wide variety of Sims creators before The Sims BORE came out. After that, I slowly stopped watching until I hardly watch anybody. Much happier in gardening and travel sections. I just couldn't get into the new style of content. Either it is so boring I can't watch or so overproduced I want to poke my eyes out. Haven't found that happy medium yet. And I keep looking. Every week, I go through Youtube Search Hell and sort by videos uploaded that week and by view count. After I scroll past all the big creators, I start looking at the smaller ones. I have hope one day I'll come across a small channel I vibe with. Alas, hasn't happened yet.

It's so hard to find small channels. YT doesn't reccomend them (I swear, they bury them, with how hard they are to find) &, like you said, they're either really new and really bland (like, Omg, some of them are so boring and don't know how to fill space) or they do the over editing tit the bug YTers do bc they think that's cool (& idk, it irritates me). Or they quit (probably bc its a lot of work and no return if they never get subs).
I swear, half the small channels I liked have just... Vanished...

New Deligracy building video. It sure looks like she's completely given up on her challenge to renovate all the buildings from Willow Creek (or other towns).

She starts off by saying that "when renovating a house you don't want to change the structure of the whole house or it's not a renovation anymore". Then manages to change the whole shape of the house 2 seconds later. See for yourself......

Also hate the name of the video because I thought it was an actual renovation of a EA build. Turns out it's the house from her LP that she's completely renovating out of nowhere, which I don't like either because it's like she can't handle not having major changes all of the time ? Like the house wasn't modern like the usual stuff she builds for once and she had to change it all...

Why did she build a child bedroom into an adult bedroom... ?

I thought these were misplaced windows but it's a glitch that's been in the game since the beginning where the ceiling actually cuts into the walls when in first person view

as for her views dropping off, i also want to say that someone could click on the video and not watch it or skip around and it still counts as a view. so i dont even think that number is indicative of actual engagement

I know I just made a post about SatchonSims but I cannot get over the fact that he basically uploaded the same video over the span of a day. The first one he talks about an SDX drop for the pride flag, and headphones and mentions telescopes and the other is almost the same thing but what is coming out soon with the werewolf pack and he mentions the telescope again with nearly the exact same info. I don't understand why he couldn't just make one video about both of them but instead uploads two nearly identical clickbait videos two days in a row. Especially when they're only 3 minutes long each.

Looks like someone subscribes to the Pixelade way of making content. Honestly, it's all about the money. Why make 1 video and get 1-2 ads when you can make multiple 3 minute videos and get more ads, more chances to be seen, more videos in the algorithm etc.

Does anyone remember Quxxn , she got me into watching sims youtubers, it was soo upsetting when she passed.

YES !!! oh my god, i started watching her when i was about 10 every day after school. i honestly can't remember how i reacted to her passing at the time but it breaks my heart to think of it now. would really have loved to see her get to play the sims 4

Ya i've sort of stopped watching Pixelade for that reason. I just can't be bothered to watch 5 videos when i can just go to someone else's channel who will explain everything in one video and won't be so long-winded.
He finds absolutely anything he can to make content too, so sometimes I've left his videos thinking "well...that was pointless..."

Now that the Sim Gurus have done the obligatory grainy livestream, how is everyone feeling about the werewolves pack? I'm guessing we are going to have an avalanche of Game Changer content this week and I can't wait to see how boring they can make their series.

I didn't watch the Livestream, but I watched Carl's Sim Guide video on it, and he seemed cautiously optimistic. Given how very valid and well thought out his major criticisms of the game over the last few years have been, I do trust him a fair bit more than some others.

The werewolves power-structure seem pretty similar to vampires, and that is a pack I am quite fond of. I note that you are able to turn off werewolves appearing in other worlds if you so wish, which is a major plus point, and something that shows the developers have been listening to complaints about vampires showing up everywhere continually.

I am also pleased by the grungy '90s aesthetic of what we were shown in Build/Buy and though I'm never too bothered with CAS, the customisation of scars and the wolf forms seems reasonably well done.

I am looking forward to James Turner going through the pack, as he built some of the lots. I hope he was able to record how he did it, or talk through what he did. I like a good detailed build video from him.

I will not buy immediately, I will wait until 50% off, but it looks a bit better, and has been more confidently and competently promoted by EA than the embarassing bin fire that was My Wedding Stories.

Is anyone else a bit apprehensive because we've seen zero real footage so far? I don't count a curated EA stream as "real." They make sure to have the most stable game possible, only base game and new pack, to make sure it functions for the grainy, "we don't know how to stream" fest. Cottage Living content was posted 2 weeks before the pack came out and with werewolves, we are literally 3 days out and its been crickets. 👀

people have this weird mentality that twitch streamers are giving up their chance to get a real life job just to entertain their fans on twitch so theY feel the need to support their favourite creator by giving them money and adoration for the amazing entertainment. Also because twitch streamers are normal people the fan develop an unhealthy attachment where they think lilsimsie or clare sibhon is their bestie because they said their name during a stream. And the best way to get attention and your name called out is by either trolling or by giving bits or gifting subs. The annoying thing is that smaller streamers are usually working a full time job and streaming in an evening for nothing.
Ever since I started working from home I have been pretty active on twitch. I love having streams going while I work as it doesn’t make me feel so alone. And although I do watch multiple streamers streams pretty often, I find it almost gross how much people give streamers. It’s so bizarre how people will just give streamers $5, $10, $50, $100, $250, for no reason. I would never give a streamer a dollar that I make. I would rather give my money for someone that actually needs it. I’m all for streamers making a bit of side money, but I feel almost disgusted how so people are so willing to give them enough money to the point streamers are able to make that their job. I’m sorry, but playing video games is not a job. I bet it can be draining being “on” but it doesn’t even compare to a real job. This “influencer” world that we live in is just stupid. You see people who work good jobs like nurses, teachers, business professionals, who are quitting their jobs because they are making just as much if not more playing video games. We are losing valuable, contributing members of society that we NEED all because people are willing to finance their lives because they “like watching them play games.” It’s really sad.

For those people who make streaming their full time job spending pretty much your entire working day on your own it cannot be a healthy way to live and it must affect people both physically and mentally. We have all seen how much Plumbellas mental health has deteriorated. Who is to say that Kayla wouldn't be so disabilitated with anxiety if she worked out of the home even people like Drgluon it just can't be healthy to stream by yourself for 5 plus hours a day.

I've blocked him cause of this. Can't stand the guy.

The really disgusting part is that there are multimillionaire Twitch Streamers, who live in mansions and drive Porsches. The abhorrently disgusting part is that many of the top streamers do almost exclusively react content, where they rebroadcast content they don't own, thus stealing money/views from hard working creators. Big Twitch contracts require a certain amount of hours streamed a month, so they just grab the lowest hanging fruit so they can essentially avoid work and reap massive benefits. These Millionaire Twitch Streamers then upload their react content to Youtube to make even more money and steal even more from smaller creators. The whole platform is a cesspool.

All the times he's lied, I don't know how he has an audience left. I don't watch him either.

well if you don’t want to pay someone for entertainment fine, but some people choose to pay those that are entertaining them. That shouldn’t be “bizarre”. Also if people are quitting those “good jobs” maybe they weren’t happy with those jobs? Some people drift to their passions that aren’t considered to be “conventional” to most. not everyone is turning into a gamer, there are hundreds more who look towards more traditional jobs and that’s fine if they are or aren’t.

I think you’re missing the point. I don’t think someone should be making hundred of thousands of dollars for streaming video games for a living. There are plenty of nurses, teachers, blue collar workers, who deserve to make more money but struggle to make ends meet. It’s gotten out of hand how much companies are willing to pay an influencer to sponsor an influencer.

There is one streamer I really like and she’s very honest about how much she makes. She isn’t a HUGE streamer but she makes a decent wage. Nothing crazy, but decent. She has done some sponsored streams, and has said it’s stupid how much some streamers will set their “minimum” rate at. She asks for a fair amount, but realizes that she isn’t “big” and that her end of the sponsorship typically isn’t asking for much. She has said streaming isn’t hard work, it’s her content creating that is (Tik toks, YT videos, tweets, Instagram posts).
