Yeah he seemed to think there was far too much fuss being made about it. And he was pretty dismissive of it all because it was Dan Wooton and Eamonn Holmes going for the jugular and as they work for GB News, they are THE BADDIES!!! Everything with this man is a left vs right issue.
He’s off his head. I despise Dan Wootton, GB News and everything about them, but I’m not going to disregard the amount of old men who seem to feel entitled to the bodies of young people just because it’s been reported by them - maybe someone should tell him that other news outlets exist, and people who are politically and socially left leaning are also repulsed by these vile abusers of power.

Did he not make some sort of comment downplaying the severity of Schofield’s actions too? Very odd considering both of these people have abused their power at the very minimum, and if one has been soliciting nudes from a 17 year old, that’s an actual crime. It’s something to be condemned and disgusted by, not used as whataboutery to push an agenda.
Yes his hot take was how ridiculous to be commenting on Schofield when there are still people having to use FOODBANKS - which should be the top news.
Talk about a false equivalence.
And by his logic while there are Foodbanks you can't comment on any other news ever.

This is so true. He would find a way to stick up for Adolf Hitler and Pol Pot if Dan Wooton ran a piece suggesting they were a couple of wrong ‘uns.

He’s such a small minded, bitter and unintelligent arsewipe. Never any room for nuance or alternative opinions in Simon World.

I was amazed by the amount of people who automatically dismissed any of the Philth accusations because they happened to be covered mainly on GB News. Look, I don't really like GB either but dismissing out of hand anything they say is a bit silly. That's the sort of thing Dan Wootton and others there would do, actually, dismissing the 'woke MSM' all the time.

Maybe this is the wrong thread to say this, but I am constantly surprised at the hold Philth has over so many people. I suspect a lot of it is because they still associate him with the broom cupboard and their childhood.

I not a GB News fan either and have always been left wing, but when Wootton talks about how the mainstream media won't cover this stuff, he's right, they won't.

Schofield is just a prime example of how people don't want to think they've been duped or manipulated. People will tell themselves a load of old tit to not feel like they've been hoodwinked. And I think a proportion of his defenders are implicitly defending their own tit behaviour. They don't want a light shone on someone like Phil because the light might eventually be shone on them.

A lot of these people defending Phil aren't even in the public eye, though. They're just defending him for seemingly no reason other than perhaps not wanting their precious broom cupboard memories sullied. It's all based on nothing and it's all emotional.

There's an advanced search facility on twitter with which to lovingly peruse Harris's rich archive of searing invective. So little to say about Dido Harding and so little to say about Michelle Mone - depsite the rich vein of satire both of these stories, and others like them, provided for. Why is that, I wonder?

"Remember folks, just because I spouted a load of tit today, doesn't mean I don't have any left for tomorrow! Or the day after that! Or the day after that! Like Daddy Pig always says "I'm a bit of an expert on [everything, in my case!]!" Join me for more Straw Man Arguments in uh, 20 minutes! I'm just off to reply pointlessly to Martin Lewis. Again.".
