I quite like that Che has financial considerations as none of the others seem to live in the real world as far as money is concerned.
This.

Charlotte buying couture to go to work, Carrie renting a shag pad in a rental crisis nearly globally, Miranda giving up big law to follow her passion and be an intern…

It’s all very tone deaf when hardly any of the audience can relate. I get that it’s fantasy but we still want some realism. The early seasons did that so well.

I just cannot like Che and don’t see what they contribute to the show - bar a shag pad for Aidan and Carrie.

So Aidan and Carrie are back together. All their conversation and relationship progression has been off camera then? They are just a thing now - no analysis from Carrie or input from Aidan? It’s so unbelievable, especially since Carrie Bradshaw notoriously obsesses over everything.

Carrie answering Che’s question with “because I made a mistake” was the most mature response Carrie Bradshaw has ever uttered. More of this Carrie please.

I’m not buying the rekindling of Aidan and Carrie. It doesn’t work for me. I need much more detail.
I think this is the issue with the seasonal transitions. There are months between episodes. So we’re missing the character development, especially of new or returning characters.

The fact that Carrie said she had just made a mistake and instead of saying anything Aiden just hugged her makes me think this is heading somewhere bad. I mean come one he’s had a marriage and his sons. Why would he not say that things happened the way they were meant too. I think he’s being set up to be bad for her

Carrie & Aidan are giving me the “ick“! And wtf was that shopping scene? I was cringing so much.

The Charlotte storyline had me shaking my head too. I mean, her struggle is very relatable but to suddenly be ok because her boss was larger…jeez…completely the wrong message! I know she’s had work on her face but she is still a stunning woman and I wanted to see her feeling good about herself, even when surrounded by the younger women.

Miranda was better this episode though!

he’s always been a little bit bad for her though so at least it could be an interesting storyline if it was amped up

All I could think of was big pepper mill dick guy.

What is it with that show and pepper mills? 🍆

I’ve a sinking feeling they are going to go crawling back to Miranda after the camera panned to her looking thoughtful when Carrie told her she made a mistake (with Aiden).
Please God no.
I actually wouldn’t mind the whole storyline if it was with someone else other than Miranda- like someone from an LGBT club and that would be a cool way to show the LGBT scene in New York etc? Just why Miranda 😆

Ches character makes no sense imo, yes typical insecure "comedian" but they have no consistency, I guess this is the fault of the episodes having too many characters (and stupid storylines) to be able to show proper logical character development though I guess

So Aiden was happy to bone Carrie in what he thought would be a multi-million dollar Manhattan apartment that she shared with her now dead husband, but was all, "I can't go back there 🥺" after 20 odd years, a marriage and 3 kids under his belt?

As Paulie from The Sopranos once said: bleeping baby!
Also imagine marrying someone, having children with them and 20 years later still not being over an ex!

*Sigh* episode 8…

- Carrie and Aiden still talk to each other like they’re thirteen and pretending to be adults. The giggly baby talk makes me HEAVE.
- Not me thinking that Aiden literally lived in Norfolk in the UK until Seema pointed it out. I feel like that wasn’t specified early on? 😂
- When Carrie said that Big was a mistake I actually pressed pause on the tv, went into the kitchen and screamed. This show is SO bleeping STUPID. We’ve literally watched 7 seasons and 2 films about why he was the love of her life. She wrote a bleeping book about it six months ago!! I am so done with this show re-writing it’s own history and it took everything in me to return to the living room and press play again on this bleeping trainwreck of a show.
- Carrie and Aiden shopping in the home section is stolen straight out of 500 Days of Summer except it has none of the charm.
- Finally Charlotte gets an endearing storyline that feels like it could belong in old SATC. Yes! I want to see how the women deal with their bodies changing as they get older! Also, the dress looked better without the belt.
- Boss woman chooses Miranda, who has been working at the company for two days, to replace her when she goes on maternity leave. If I was one of the younger employees I would be pissed off too 🙄
- Seema is a good character but she is not Samantha.

A dumb episode. 4.5/10

Thoughts on E9 promo

Carrie's ready to sell her apartment  she'd be a dumbass if Aiden is the catalyst, but Carrie is not known for using her brain in decision-making.

Charlotte suggests Lily visits Brady. Ruh-roh! What could possibly go wrong between the protege and the malfunctioning sex robot? We know this is bullshit, because in real life, Charlotte would be doing everything in her power to keep Lily away from Brady; she'd want her daughter mixing in her private school, Park Avenue circles. It only cements my total apathy towards the AJLT kids.

LTW and her husband walking into a room of applause. I don't care for either of them, and I won't respond to it /Lucille Bluth.

Aiden's ex-wife Cathy wants to meet Carrie for coffee. I'd like to think it's so they can bond over Aiden being a scrote.

The trailer alludes to Seema having sex with a client during a viewing, I don't care, we've seen it done with Samantha in SATC. Seema isn't our Sammy Jo.

It's insane that an adult with so much life experience is still basing her major life choices Ln snap decisions with men. I am 36 and look back on satc and wonder about her decisions, looking at someone who now is supposed to be in their 50s doing the same is insane

I have to admit I was really happy to see Aiden in the last episode but seeing his upper torso just gave me the ick..... I appreciate we all get older but it didn't seem real! Did anyone else think it looked..... odd.
I think his body looked like someone of his age that has yo-yoed with their weight. He probably lost weight recently knowing these scenes were coming up.

They did the twilight shots that they often do for older guys (like tom cruise's shirtless scene in top gun) but they could have made it a bit more flattering.

I think it’s really disappointing and quite misogynistic that all their decisions are based on their romantic relationships. It would be nice to see someone happily single and focussing on something other than the guy that they shat on 20 years ago.

I felt he looked like an 80s action man doll. Like something didn't look right wirh his shape. A bit like when he was stood outside the restaurant when he met Carrie! Its probably just me, but he looks strange to me. I used to love Aiden in SATC though .... love it that he's back xx

I haven’t watched the episode yet but as others have said feel annoyed that they’re dragging up the past for the sake of it and disregarding the whole plot (kinda like the whole of AJLT!)

I always thought Carrie knew she wasn’t good enough for Aidan. She cheated on him, she knew she was meant to be with Big and couldn’t leave him alone. Aidan was the nice guy, they always made a thing about him being so massive compared to tiny Carrie. She’d sleep in his shoulder nook and rub his tummy. He was like her protector, he forgave her for so much (cheating, but also losing the dog on the street, failing at giving up smoking immediately). He was innocent, didn’t treat her like a sexual object, they were comfortable around each other (fried chicken in bed) but she always wanted more, something with that was confusing, and something more tumultuous. Then Aidan ended up married with cute babies which Carrie never wanted.

They should have left it alone, it’s irritating that she now suddenly regrets Big after the entire main show and movies were about them trying to end up together.
