I don’t think he intentionally slapped her but it was a display of his total disregard for her feelings and annoyance with her. In my opinion, it doesn’t really matter how it happened, he slapped her and it was a pretty intense moment. I would have been out of there in a shot myself. I really dislike everything about the Paris scenes and the lead up to going to Paris. Not a fan of the Russian at all.
That’s true - agree that relationship was pretty bad/she should have never gone to Paris but they were also fundamentally v unsuited. As someone said earlier (sorry I forget who!) he and Sam made more sense!

I was always unsure about this... for me how he was seemed like he'd be the kind of man who would. But maybe thats me projecting. Either way I don't think he was a nice man at all. True about Carrie and big but for me with the Russian it was more things like him asking (begging ) her to abandon plans to support him (gallery opening) and leaving her. This is the kind of person who eventually makes you abandon contact with your friends/family for the same reason
Fair point!

Excuse the rogue “ta” here!

It's like the first season was setting the scene for the second season - Big dying, Carrie's grieving, Sam gone, Carrie back in her old apartment, Miranda and Steve breaking up, Charlotte's family, and introducing the new characters, etc.

When season 2 started it was like saying right now that you know all that let's get on with the story..... (although they are taking their time!)

Totally agree, the Paris sc
I can't watch the new episode until the evening but I just love the spoilers on here each week. It makes me want to watch it even more. 🥰
Same 🤣 don't know why I'm liking posts about it as if I agree when I haven't even seen it yet (I'm often glad for the warnings 🤣)

Ok, after that episode I’m now hoping Sam Smith’s cameo is as Aidan’s chicken sitter, and they turn up on Carrie’s doorstep to say they’ve been giving Aidan a bloody good stuffing for years.
Samantha calls Carrie to ask “Honey, I’ve been hearing about this substitute me you’ve been seen having dinner with, who is she and why the duck did you ever think I could be replaced”.
The ghost of Big appears, to forever be stood at the end of Carrie’s bed, causing objects to fall on her whenever she orgasms in return for that comment about orgasms to Miranda.

The End

Totally agree with you, I'm never in any rush to watch it and I genuinely don't care about reading spoilers, because all of the comments on here are funnier than the show could ever be! (Sorry @emm - chopped your name out when I quoted you!)

Went to see Oppenheimer last night and Richard is in it, not licking another woman’s p*ssy though 😂

But at any point in this movie did someone order this dirty bastard a dirty martini? 😉

Aidan is giving me the ick. "Kisssinng coussinns" 🤮 they spent a fortune on hotels, renting Che's apartment and kitting it out all because he can't be in Carrie's apartment, get over it man! 🥴
And I'm sure Charlotte worrying that she has a belly (she doesn't) and then being totally fine when she sees the plus-size woman in a crop top at work was supposed to be an empowering body positive moment, but it just made me 🤦‍♀️

I’ve been quite anti the Carrie Aidan storyline but I watched the latest one this morning and didn’t hate it. They have good chemistry and genuinely seem in love (I appreciate they’re not 😂) but the back and forth between them seems sweet and natural. Miranda telling Carrie she was moving too fast was just ridiculous, I wish Carrie would have said something in return about her leaving her son and husband to move to LA with a comedian she barely knows. Charlottes storyline was a little silly but kind of relatable, going back to the work place after many years would be daunting and, as she said, everyone will be 25. Hopefully strong and capable Miranda is on her way back. Anthony getting no support over the phone from Charlotte was odd, it was like they were having 2 different conversations.
I appreciated Seema’s storyline. Female relationships are complicated, I’ve lost friends as we have moved through the various stages of our lives marriages/children etc. it seemed realistic to me that she didn’t want to third wheel all summer, and was worried about how their friendship would be affected.
All in all, every week is an improvement.

The Seema storyline could be a thread on Mumsnet

"AIBU my friend is bringing her new (again) boyfriend on our girls only holiday"

Cue pages of conflicting advice of "be nice, he could be the one", "she's a cheeky witch tell her to die in a volcano" and random "I don't answer the front door to unexpected visitors in my beautifully appointed manor house with twin garage and triplets in boarding school ."

Being honest Seema was right to cancel the holiday house, Carrie just assumed that it was fine to drag Aidan along without speaking to her first. So get in the nearest volcano Carrie.

My thoughts on episode 8

Charlotte is a complete squeaking parody of herself. She has a beautiful figure and I found it really patronising that she only took off what seemed to be 3 pairs of spanx because she'd still look slim next to the larger lady in the gallery. Also, Lily's space cakes that saw her hospitalised seem to have been completely forgotten.

Miranda, oh FFS, shouldn't have said totem, man or bottom- is this a poke at woke now to show how over cautious it makes people? Though "office Miranda" looks way better than "West Coast Che Hanger On Miranda"

Aiden and Carrie- Yuck. Like a pair of daft kids. All the apartment hopping, really? Grow up! And the way his kids are referred to made me feel like they were still youngsters.

Anthony is still the only character mostly true to the SATC version
