I just don't understand why they've turned Charlotte into a 'comedy' character with crappy storylines about spunk, tampons and condoms. And why is she so shrieky and dramatic, and why do her eyes look like they are going to pop out any second? I didn't realise having shitloads of botox, fillers and God knows what else means you lose your ability to act! I always liked her in SATC (other than when she quit her job), she was classy, and knew exactly what she wanted and what kind of person she was. Now she's unrecognisable- in looks as well as personality!

Remeber when she got pissed on the Staten Island ferry?? They've made her like that all the time 🙄
 
I actually yelled “NOOOO” when Aidan and Carrie kissed. “NOT AGAIN!!!!”. In what universe is this ever going to work out?

I think if we got a Berger cameo it would somehow be less painful. Also, I understand it would’ve been awkward but their restaurant conversation was so dry. I could feel myself nodding off.

If anyone needs a good laugh though, think back to when Carrie and the girls went to Abu Dhabi and Aidan just happened to be there (Don’t you just hate when that happens to you? It happens so often, I know!)

Maybe we should see Anthony meeting up with friends, at least then there would be one interesting character unlike the LTW scenes.

Love how we all hate LTW 😂 to be fair although I’d prefer not to have so much of these new characters Nya and Seema are more interesting than her

I think that’s in a nutshell that’s what isn’t working, having new characters as central characters. It’s about the main ladies!

It is because they are trying to shoehorn them in where they don't fit (and aren't needed?). If the series has opened with a lunch with all 6 women and we learn that they have all been friends for years and they all know each other it might have worked. For me it's the fact that they only met women of colour in the first episode and never made friends with anyone over the 20 years that passed. In NewYork City? Come on!

Well maybe they did in SATC, it just wasn’t shown (it’s not like each other were their only friends)! It’s just we don’t see them because they’re irrelevant to the story (Not POC in general obvs, just this particular story is about a group of three or four women)

I agree with you wholeheartedly and these characters should be treated the same. They should never appear without one of the main characters. Nya gave Miranda a place to live - brilliant - she should only appear when Miranda is at home and chatting to her about something relevant to the story. Charlotte's friend should only appear with Charlotte and their conversation gives us an insight into Charlotte's life. Same with Seema - was it her that was out to dinner with the women when Aidan's name came up? It allowed the characters to discuss Aidan and Carrie's relationship which was a good way to recap naturally.

**sorry if I've mixed up any names - I am not invested enough in this show and only watch with one eye on it.

Except much less fun. The scenes of her with rock s modelling harassing the receptionist were uncomfortable to watch, I could never imagine Charlotte in satc being so rude

🤫 Stop thinking about these things, they wanted the scene outside her flat and that's all that mattered to them. Irrelevant of how they ended up there 😆

It's the double whammy of we don't care about them and their scenes aren't good. It wouldn't have taken much to both introduce them so the viewers are interested and make scenes that have an actual purpose other than using the new characters.

Someone could probably make an hour long edit of just sjp's scenes in each season and that would be mildly watchable.
