After switching off ten minutes into the first episode I gave it another go if only to follow the tread here more clearly 😝. It’s nothing like SATC and seems pointless as someone else said nothing much aside from Miranda has happened to move them all forward. I didn’t even feel much emotion when Big died or the aftermath of that, Carrie just seems to throw about ‘my husband died’ as a jokey line.

I don’t remember them ever showing side character story lines without one of the four being on screen? The professor and husband getting solo screen time jars for me as this isn’t their show and with no background development of them i as a viewed don’t really care about them.

So many continuity errors as well, Miranda was going to be going home that evening to tell Steve she wanted a divorce, whole evening scene in the brownie store then it switched to her in the street in daylight the next day talking with Che. If the viewers can spot this why can’t they well paid producers?

This is what i didn’t understand. Big was the love of her life, we spent Years invested in their relationships and it seems the fans mourned big more than Carrie.

I really thought we’d see how she deals with her grief, but all we saw was jokes about a dead husband!?

She spent more time being depressed over their break up’s than she did over his death.

I suppose with cynthia seemingly taking the reigns, there can no mourning or grieving over the death of a white hetero CIS male.

I don't think we will see any development about Big due to the 'allegations' and that developing story. Any relevance to him and his scenes were promptly cut off which is why we have so many disjointed episodes :( Plus AJLT has turned into the Miranda show. It's tone deaf, pathetic and after the 'Holohaux' joke which is honestly like scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point, I'd rather follow the show through Tattle and Daily Mail than watch the actual show. Making fun of one of the most persecuted people on earth is lowest of the low.

- Where is the continuation, what was the point of the Cleveland thing if you aren’t going to show it?!
- Hmm what old lady thing haven’t we covered yet 🤔 Ah yes the menopause!
- Brady is a rude c**t
- Lily doesn’t want to wear a tampon, then she does want to wear a tampon, tells Charlotte she wants to wear a tampon so Charlotte shows her how to wear a tampon. By the end of this episode tampon didn’t even sound like a word anymore
- Miranda and Charlotte have become caricatures of their former selves

Out of all the episodes I think I prefer this one, ghr scenes with Seema and Steve had the old SATC vibes for me. Even carrie painting in heels!
But the rest of it....🙈🙈

I know it’s stating the obvious but WRITERS IF YOU ARE READING THIS will you PLEASE give Miranda a full factory reset?

she has lost the very essence of who she is, she’s turned into some blithering 2D Hallmark character

But can I get a prize please for spotting Antoine Lavaux from Emily in Paris as ageing lothario with a sports car, hitting on Seema?

This is what I was wondering…. It had already been filmed - and I know Chris Noth has the allegations against him, but that isn’t Big…. Can they not be separated? I don’t know, I’m genuinely curious as to what people think. If people are less sensitive to seeing his face they could always put up a disclaimer if need be. Are they going to go through all of past SATC and cut big out or never show them? I highly doubt it
 
Yes exactly
They’ve cut him from everything so now what’s left doesn’t make any sense. I’m sure it would have given us more Carrie grieving and processing his death. And I guess would have been sad for the viewers ( after all our years invested in this couple and seeing a sad ending)

But with cutting him, it’s just not got that main story they first set out to make. And instead it’s the Cythanra tit show
 
I really doubt there were significant big flashbacks in every episode, I think it’s just disjointed anyway. A scene with big here and there wouldn’t explain why we’re hearing about the profs ivf every second episode or why Rocks transition was just left hanging. Carrie has referred to him once or twice, so it’s not like he’s not allowed to be mentioned, he just isn’t very frequently. She definitely did a more convincing heartbroken portrayal in the first film when he didn’t show up to the wedding.
That episode was a total mess. Must have been a man who wrote the period story There’s no way Charlotte could be bleeding to the point where it soaks her trousers and not feel it. As if a 15 year old would want that much input from her mother about her period. Steve and Brady turned up to the shelter painting together and Miranda was already there, are we to assume she’s moved out? How is she supporting herself and paying her postgrad fees and no job? I can’t BELIEVE they didn’t follow up the Cleveland thing.
The worse thing is if listen to the AJLT podcast with various writers they genuinely believe they’ve created a masterpiece. Apparently in ep8 when Miranda says that staying with Steve isn’t fair to him or che, and Carrie says ‘or to you’ and that’s so the audience knows Miranda is putting herself third….ummmm….no.

I definately think he knew what was about to come out. During the press call for AJLT Noth did this wierd self hugging thing. Truly bizarre. He quite literally wrapped his arms around himself when SJP moved away and self hugged.

A panicked knee jerk reaction to appease a few that ruined what was already a very poor re-boot.

It all makes sense if you remember that the AJLT people believe that we are children. We need to be educated about an endless list of Very Important Things including black people, brown people, nonbinary people, trans people, lesbians, periods and menopause. We also need to be protected, because as children we couldn’t begin to grasp the concept that actors and the characters they portray are two separate things, and that actors live lives that are different to the lives of those characters. Finding this out may well bring on a fit of the vapours for many viewers, so really we should all be very grateful.

Totally. The continuity editing (as someone said above too) is just dreadful, isn’t it? How has it been allowed to go out like this? Has nobody watched the episodes through before they’re released? Total amateur hour.
