I thought the same when Kelly Jones from The Stereophonics announced his daughter was called Lolita years ago. Clearly he hadn't read the book.

I would be uneasy with a woman reporter talking about a 15 year old girl in a short tight outfit (or any other outfit) like that, but this reporter is a grown man.

Suri has added Holmes to her name so she is now Suri Holmes Cruise. Interesting. I wonder if by keeping Cruise it means she hopes for a daughter father relationship with him down the line? He missed her graduation and it seems pretty obvious he has nothing to do with her. As someone who was rejected by their father as a young kid and has had zero contact in over thirty years, I feel for Suri on this.

On another note it makes me feel old as dirty that she's 18 now, it does feel like yesterday when the press were losing their minds over her birth annoucement.

That isn’t what the article you linked to says.

It says she’s dropped the Cruise surname and is now known as Suri Noelle (Noelle being Katie’s middle name).

In the link to it, it said she kept Cruise, oops. My bad for the confusion.

So it looks like Tom is absolutely not in her life and never will be, picking his cult over her because the cult will see her as a Supressive Person. So ridiculous.

Celebrity members generally get a fair bit of leeway re the "rules" of Scientology, in order to keep them onside.

Obviously, they all regularly work/associate with non members, which is generally otherwise discouraged.

Tom is their most high profile and most profitable member. If he wanted to see Suri after the divorce, the Church would almost certainly have looked the other way in order to keep the gravy train flowing.

He's the one who's too deep in his cult and their stupid beliefs. He made the choice to reject his child.

Lots of ex-members left for the sake of their children - including David Miscavige's brother - enduring harassment and abuse to do so. He's incredibly rich and powerful and just let her go like she was nothing.

$cientology fasciantes me, it's so batshit and ruins lives but still people sign up. Did you see the documentary Going Clear that came out years ago? It was very good but not shown in the UK, at least not at the time of the original release.

I've thought this for a long time. Considering what a minority Trans people are, there is definitely a disproportionate number amongst the offspring of celebrities. I feel it's the essential accessory for some of these celebs, a bit like when they all had chihuahuas.
