I totally think Walliams has a day of reckoning approaching. Little Britain and his kids books just reek of misogyny.

I've also heard stuff about Jason Mansford.

Does anyone have any primtetime TV celebs that they'd be crushed if it turned out they're a wrong 'un? For me it'd be Ant and Dec, they've been a part of my pop culture life since the 90s lol. And Let's Get Ready to Rumble is a legitimate bop.

For me it would be the late and lovely Brian Cant. I would just go to bed and never get up again.

I know he wasnt recent and not really prime time though😄

Does anyone else find it disappointing how few celebrities and fellow comedians are condemning Russell Brand or talking supportively about how his victims have come forward. Only person is Sharon Davies the swimmer! Maybe Russell has injunctions or legal threats against people that stop them doing that. But this is not like the metoo movement where there was a lot of support towards victims.
I’m choosing to believe that they’re afraid of litigation, or of being deemed to prejudice any possible trial.
The reality is, they’re probably waiting to be sure that they would keep more followers than they’d lose by condemning him, before speaking out :(

Oh man Billy Bragg is full of shite. A prominent GC woman got harrassed and threatened by trans rights activists in Dublin on the weekend. Bragg told her on Twitter "Well you had a smile on your face in the photo I saw of you so you can't have been that bothered".

Exactly the same train of thought that leads to statements like "She was asking for it".

Bragg thinks he's one of the good ones, and what I wanna know is how is it possible to be THAT complacent and un-self-aware? Is it drugs? Stupidity? Some synapse connection missing in the brain? He ought to be studied by science.
His popularity really shows how little the left wing media really care about women’s issues. It’s almost as if they really assume that everything is now ‘fixed.’ The right are no better mind, but at least they’re more honest about it so you can attempt debate.

It's the old cycle of abuse rearing it's ugly head again.

Chris Brown, another woman hating POS, was raped as a child by an older woman.

It's not an excuse for their current behaviour, just more evidence we need to break this cycle. It just keeps pumping out more abusers.

Obviously, not everyone who was abused goes on to abuse others, but a large majority of those who become abusers were abused themselves

Better support for victims would be a start.
The scale of the problem is really underestimated, I really think people generally believe it’s relatively rare. Society could be so different if adverse childhood experiences were recognised and treated correctly. Some of the difficult kids I’ve known, it would have been very challenging for them to have done anything else, given they were entrained into it.

Oh no, he seemed like one of the alright ones! At this stage maybe it would be more of a shock to see a male comedian who wasn’t a predator. 😬

I'm confused by this. If in real life he's fine with women, why would he have that as part of the act? He must be aware that it's distressing to the women he's speaking to and the women hearing it.

Is it just that the laughs from men are enough to make up for it?

He rips men to shreds too, if that helps.

I don’t like all his humour but I also don’t find him problematic. Much of what he does is taken out of context. It happens to many comedians, including the very mainstream Kevin Bridges.

Not necessarily prime time but;

Bob Mortimer
Richard Ayoade
Romesh Ranganathan
James Acaster
Ed Gamble

are just a few I’d be particularly upset by. All/most of them seem to have a lot of goodwill amongst other comedians though, so I’m hoping they’re good guys 🤞
I think Romesh and Katherine Ryan seem to get on quite well. And Bob seems quite well liked, although I don’t get the feeling that Vic is hugely popular (which doesn’t mean he’s a predator of course!)

I don't know who said it but they were spot on: the right see women as private property; the left see us as public property.

So the Graun will preach at us to be kind and pander to creepy men, otherwise we are on the wrong side of history.

I wonder if he makes violent sexual threats against men, though. I’m not so sure he would. Not all crappy comments are interchangeable.

I don’t think being friends with Kathryn can automatically mean someone is OK - she doesn’t know everything about everyone.

True

She wasn’t afraid to speak out about Brand, even if she couldn’t name him at the time. I don’t think she’d align herself with a wrong ‘un. She’s also very good friends with Jimmy Carr FWIW.

He does! The stuff he says to blokes is equally crass.

It’s all words. Peoples’ feelings may be hurt. Whole audiences pay money for it. As I said earlier, Frankie Boyle is easy to ignore.

Omg - he sexually assaulted her on stage. I find him desperately unfunny but never really had him down as a creep tbh.
I must ask my OH who he thinks are predators, he'd been telling me for years Huw Edwards was dodgy. I know he always thinks Frank Skinner should be worried.
