Scottish Politics #2

I am so angry re council tax. We pay over £3,000 per year and are mature in years, hubby is retired and I work part time. It is this time in our life where we could afford a nice new house and we will be hit heavily with these increases. Our glass recycling has gone, we all have to pollute the air even more and take it to recycling centres. Our garden waste, we now have to pay an additional £45 to have this collected. Our green bin (general waste) went from every 2 weeks to every 3 weeks a couple of years ago. Now I read come autumn, it is going to a 4 weekly collection. Not only that they are replacing the full size green wheelie bins with ones half the size 🤬 The reason..... they as in the council need to reduce their carbon footprint. You really couldn't make this up. We will all now have to get in our gas guzzling cars to now make multiple trips to the tips to dispose of our smelly rubbish.

I would love to know exactly what my £3,000+ is being spent on.

We looked into heat pumps for our house and even with the government grant we were quoted £18k.
and if you do qualify for a government grant, do you have to employ a company that is endorsed/contacted by the Scottish government, could it potentially be jobs awarded to SNP supporters companies, also how does it work? does a notice of a grant payment get entered on your house deeds with a clause that if you sell your property within a certain timescale you have to pay it back?
---
They’re also not suited to many properties - the whole thing is just amateur hour
yes deffo or is he putting this shite out to deflect attention away from Nicked Nicky and her ilk

It was my husband that did all the work into looking into heat pump but i'm sure the company does need to be registered or accredited in some way. You don't need to pay it back though as it is for the property and would remain.

I don't think so, once you get a grant for a purpose of something specific, then that's that. Don't think it matters if you sell the house or not, the energy efficiency of the house would be increased no matter who owns it

I only vaguely remember Rab C and I'm not entrenched in scottish independence politics, but would Rab have been a supporter of the SNP?
