And the thought going into the bio on the instagram. I couldn’t even imagine thinking that or being bothered about it a month after my little girl died. She needs to realise Instagram is a pile of tit it’s great if it distracts her but my god share about the weather or something not her daughter reading to her dead daughter, their private moments talking or her husband watching the game with the photo. I’m actually in shock her youngest is not old enough to consent to anything being posted so it absolutely should not be posts of her.

She never mentioned it until today. Odd thing to be talking about.
 
Maybe in some way does she feel obliged to share so much giventhat Saoirse was labelled "The Nations Child"... I cant recall who put this label on her ? I know it was on a balloon.
 
I think someone needs to - gently - take her phone away from her.

I wouldn't presume for a millisecond to know what she, her husband, their little daughter and the wider family are going through.

I know there are people who have channelled their grief through helping others, like the Gavin Glynn Foundation for example. Maybe doing something like that would help her, in time, I don't know.

Poor little Saoirse, what a brave young lass, may she rest in peace.

This. I’m sure people in her inner circle are equally as horrified as us but can you imagine how hard it would be to be the one to have to hold the intervention, no matter how gentle.

Either Mamma herself, or one of her friends did. The balloon was the only mention of it, nowhere else did I see or hear any mention of it.

I said it before, but the harsh reality is, she wasn't the Nation's child. Sure, much of the nation was very fond of her and admired her due to her story, and rightly so. It's awful what happened, and no one would wish it on anyone... but many more probably haven't thought of her since she died, and in the years to come fewer and fewer people will speak of her. That's just life, and putting a title on her won't change that.

That sort of behaviour goes on in the real world too sadly.
A couple I know lost their son to cancer at a similar age.

Since then every local event has to have the poor little guy name-checked in some way at the behest of his mother.

It's a very difficult situation.

Oh absolutely.
It's such a sad situation and maybe this is helping her in some way. I can't even begin to imagine how she feels.

But the little girl's privacy is not being respected, whatsoever, and that's so important.
And all of those final moments are so very precious, I am sure, unimaginably precious, but they should also be private, in my opinion.
 
an intervention a month after loosing a child would be the wrong step. I had a ring side seat when a friend lost a child tragically. It was horrific and the poor mum actually tried to take her own life within the first year. All we could do was ride the wave with her and keep her safe. Thankfully she learned to live with the grief. I hope Saoirses mum starts to tone it down but I've put her on mute as it is a tough watch but I dont think I'm in a position to say whats right or wrong when my own kids are safe and with me.

I don't think there is any harm in local events name checking or remembering lost kids. Our school did it all the way along at fhc, grads and communions. I think it gave the message for grieving classmates that is was normal to talk and remember their friend and I know the mum got comfort from it and did continue to attend those big days. Eventually she sponsored an exciting event in her little mans memory so its more focused now, The charity or fund is also a great way but way too soon for this family.
 
Plugging Mary Tierney's Camino charity page today and Mary gushing about it. The common denominator is Sinead (Sinead's Curvy Style). I don't know which one of them is the worst!

I missed that as I had a wedding at the weekend. What did she say? I wish one could view old stories!

There is a way to, using third party sites, but I don't know the name of any off hand.

She basically had a post up with a screenshot of her profile, with an arrow to the part of her bio that mentions Saoirse. She said thanks to everyone that had told her there was no rush on changing the wording of it, but that if she does in time to come, it will only be that line she will reword.

It was odd, as the only other mention of her bio that I had seen, was here... Yet her story was worded as if she had asked for people's opinions on it.
 
Thanks, I was the one who mentioned that line as it seemed odd that she posts so much about missing her but her bio reads like she's still alive.

She had a story up which she deleted and I'm not sure why. It was a screenshot of her page with an arrow at the line where saoirse is battling for the 4th time. She said she can't bring herself to change it that it makes her feel physically sick to think about or something along those lines. I'd say she does read here considering you were the only one who mentioned it and then she posted that. She received messages of support after and then posted again about it but deleted the original for some reason.
