Have y’all heard of runnersknees? He is hilarious if you want a laugh, he lists himself as a top influencer from a runnersworld article years ago and his podcast is worth a listen as he puts on what sounds like a fake posh accent. I met him at Loch Ness and he was so stuck up and barely spoke. All his twitter mates said how much they all hate him, was funnnnny. I think he just wants to be one of the bigger accounts so much it’s sad
Sounds like a tool tbh, never heard of him until seeing this but not one I’ll be following

You're not! I'm still in shorts and a t-shirt too...I see people running in leggings and huge jackets and wonder how they're not overheating!

On a separate note, anyone else tired of seeing carla_moves flogging PureSport CBD literally every single day? How much are they paying her for that?
You mean the head tilting fake, follower buying Carla?! 🙄 don’t think she’s paid but if someone uses her link then she’s compensated through an affiliate program

If a coach is injured and not taking their own advice on what’s best, how can they feel comfortable taking money from others to coach them through injuries?
Right? A few people on here have seemed to suggest an injured coach is a bad coach, which I don’t agree with. We all have our own wonky biomechanics or the misfortune to do something silly, like sprain an ankle in a pothole. What matters is how one takes the comeback…and a coach has a responsibility to set a good example. If a coach is running through injury, how can you trust them to know what’s best for their injured athletes? Will they tell them to “work through that niggle” like they did? And the fact that she has been under-eating to punish herself is such a bad example and is quite sad…as a coach I really feel like she should know better. Everyone in the comments is praising her for being honest and brave, but they’re all neglecting the fact that she has a position of responsibility. Surely it would have been braver to admit she was having a few days off to sort out a niggle and make sure it didn’t get worse. But yet she’s prioritizing her less than 10K followers over her own health. Do they even care if they don’t see your post-run selfie for a few days? I really doubt it

WR's going to predict Kelly a sub 4 marathon from her 10k time, which will not work with the lack of recent long runs and very sub-optimal taper. Shame is, she might have a chance for 4:15 if she set off at that pace but by inevitably going off at 3:55 pace she will likely crash and finish nearer 4:30 (IF she finishes)
She won’t do sub4, not a chance. Where’s her long run at marathon pace? You need at least 3 long runs over a half marathon distance in training for a decent marathon time. I’ve no doubt she’ll do a sub 2 first half, but the lack of long runs will make her crash and burn, again.

This! People forget that there is a big difference between a marathon and a half marathon. It’s not as simple as “just” being double the distance; your body and mind are pushed in ways that are difficult to describe. There’s a reason people talk about it being a 20 mile warm up and then a 10k race! I don’t think it’s fair on her to be set a sub 4 target to (almost definitely) come undone again. Especially when she’s raced her recent races - such a no go! And her pace at the half today was around what she’d have to do for a BQ with a decent buffer zone (assuming it returns to being oversubscribed next year). But take away the social adoration, likes and comments, would they be doing all this? I doubt it….

Ah right okay. Not sure what the point is of flogging it to people who doesn’t actually exist 🤣
The other day she had 17.5k followers but now that’s dropped by 200 I think when I looked, the sign of fake followers for sure! She won’t lose that many in a week or two I’m sure if that

Does anyone follow Gary Gregory? His training has been absolutely mental recently and now he’s torn his calf. A shame but such an awful example to set to younger athletes
Yeah I follow him, he’s a pretty sound bloke. He’s ex SFSG and I think he’s got a pretty high level of fitness. I don’t think he’s trying to set an example to anyone in all fairness, he’s just sharing his running journey on IG and has unfortunately picked up an injury. He doesn’t seem like the influencer belters that get discussed on here who train way above their capabilities.

Kel has no business going for a sub 4. Why make that the goal? Why do so many people obsess over achieving a 4 hour marathon?? It's not an easy thing to do! Especially for someone running her paces. She should easily do that pace for 10k, not racing it, to get a sub 4. Like everyone has said, she will go out too fast (for her) and die around mile 15. And keep losing pace, or walk or dnf. And they keep pushing how great this progress is in stories and posts. Keep trying to convince yourselves. WR should know better! What a tit coach. She worries more about being the darling of running ig than anything else. Will cost her an injury. Almost guaranteed.

Ha! Anna bailed on the Gosport Half because she was too tired to run the time she planned to brag about. Shame - I was looking forward to spotting her while I was running it. It's a great event, and I'm sure she would have loved binge eating the cake from all the goodie bags. I love kids, I love being an auntie, but I also love handing them back. I'm too selfish to have them impact every area of my life, particularly running and sleep. Therefore, I am not having kids. Anna knew what she was getting into, she said so many times throughout pregnancy that her sleep and running schedule would be interrupted and she accepted that. So she needs to stop blaming Isaac for all her poor decisions. If you want sleep, don't have children, or suck it up and get on with it. Yes, Mums are of course allowed an indentity outside of their babies and running can be a huge part of that, but everything she posts is just resentment and excuses, all directed at a baby whose sleep seems entirely normal for a person of his age, and certainly nothing difficult to deal with.

No-one is forcing her to run a marathon, or a half. She's just doing it because she's so obsessed with showing off. She is not enjoying it - that much is obvious - so it's all for what? A few fire emojiis and a flexed bicep, perhaps a hand clap. What a sad, sad little existence. Even if she ran the half, even if she ran the marathon, it isn't inspiring, it's pathetic. No-one cares. Literally no-one, not even her excuse for friends. They just tell her what she wants to hear.

Mums have to deal with so much. I have respect for the ones fighting to run 5 minutes even months after birth, women who have babies with health problems of all sorts, mums struggling to accept bodies that are still unrecognizable years after pregnancy, those with postpartum depression, or hair loss, those with little to no support. Anna has two doting sets of grandparents, her physical health, a wonderful and supportive partner, and she still moans about the tiniest, most basic little things. All of her so called problems are self-imposed and she needs to get over herself, recognize her privilege and own her mistakes instead of always trying to prove she's better than everyone else.

What I don’t understand is why is Kelloggs running this marathon? Is it because she crashed and burned the last 2? I don’t understand running a 10k race 2 weeks out from a marathon? Unless she is just going out to run it for fun. It really makes no sense.

I follow quite a few IG runners from America and a lot of them run multiple marathons after each other without having solid marathon training blocks for everyone - the difference being they are already running sub 3.30 marathon times so I guess the fitness and speed is there already. Kellogg must have the fitness she only ran Berlin and London marathon 8 weeks ago and she hasn’t stopped running since, no she hasn’t trained specifically for a marathon but she will get around, never sub 4 but she should finish.
