Running Instagrammers #15 when content is more important than health

I’ve got to admit - I’m intrigued. The final person I still follow who was an original Frontrunner has even jacked it in after being in reels and posts about a meet-up at the weekend. I would love to know the gossip! 😂

It looked good fun to me in the year or so when it was new. Then it got a bit circle jerky as has already been said. I think that type of marketing has had it’s time now.

My fav front runner is Run like a Wrinkly (or something like that) - she’s in her 60s and normal pace and is funny. The only one who doesn’t come across like a wanker. I don’t mind Ania G either as she’s always been on insta and a good runner so at least she has the credentials.

Pass me the sick bucket!! This guy is a gigantic helmet and she's no better "oooh we won" "ooo our terms"

Wanker 🤡
My thoughts exactly. duck off with your wanky press release-style statement. Who do you think you are really? It's the vague suggestions of what happened without saying what happened to create the 'if you know you know' style intrigue, aka are you in the inner circle or not. Bore off chap, you're a nobody.

I think social media has changed hugely since Frontrunners was introduced. Years ago when it was, runners were delighted to get free gear and trips and races for being on the team and promotion of the brand, usually meaning they wouldn’t be allowed to have deals with other brands.
Now the model has totally changed. Influencers don’t just want free things in exchange for posting, they want financial compensation. Imagines ASICS wanted to keep with the one brand only deals, and some of these runners are being offered payment for promotion of other brands - I think the argument has been that they want proper payment for being a Frontrunner which has never been part of the contracts thus far.
Just my take on it - may be totally wrong!!

This sums up what I didn’t realise I dislike about it all now. It’s groups of influencers promoting this stuff, and not groups of runners doing it for fun. I don’t believe a single one of them just love the brand and enjoy getting free kit. They’ll all switch to whatever they can grift from elsewhere.

After 10 years of living and breathing Asics (apart from when she wore Vaporflys for that marathon that time and cropped her feet out of pictures of it on IG), I am looking forward to seeing if Holly sticks with her beloved Asics for races etc in the future or if there is a sudden switch to the brand she actually prefers.
She'll probably wear whatever she's paid to wear, I'm sure other brands will offer her deals.

Who gives a duck, she's still a massive twit that many in the community don't like, along with that clown husband of hers

Anna’s smugness about running EARLY in the morning is off the scale today 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I guess as she doesn’t read here anymore and has no self awareness she won’t realise that no one gives a tit if you get up early or not and running early in the morning isn’t any better or worse than any other time of day. but i guess it makes the perfect excuse to run fasted.

Let’s hope her pelvic floor is strong enough to take on the very ill advised marathon she’s planning

Me too! They might be offered £2000 for a sunglasses deal, £1500 to advertise hats and £5000 a year on a sports brand deal. It’s about getting the best deals, not about brands they are proud of. The difference is that 5-10 years ago social media was fun alongside regular jobs, now many have this as their livelihood!
