Never really thought about it in this way…..there are plenty of high performing/under fuelling runners who seem to “get away with it” (for now)…..however most of them don’t have children or dependents and have fairly cushty jobs, WFH etc. This removes a huge amount of stress and stain on the body - being able to sleep and do what you want not trying to juggle the needs of small children, no school run to do, no managing kids germs, etc. This probably contributes a lot to them not getting injured.

Sarah doesn’t really seem to have any other interests or social life outside running - not that she puts on insta anyway - the odd coffee or pizza after a race seems to be the extent of it - maybe that’s what you have to sacrifice to be a 2.45 marathoner !
Oh wow that F75 sounds like a total legend! I agree with you she’s probably extremely careful with not a single calorie unaccounted for - how else could she eat cinnamon buns and hot chocolates every day and look and run the way she does? I do also agree with the PP who said she trains sensibly to an extent, she obviously does LOTS of S&C, yoga and seems to have a reasonably chill job, prioritises sleep, doesn’t socialise much and has no dependents or pets. I used to be able to put my body through a lot more physical stress before I had a crazy job and an even crazier toddler 😅

100%!! And there are others who demonstrate the opposite is true. There are exceptions obv, people’s bodies handle stress in massively different ways, and lots of that is a lifestyle choice too, but the majority of us have mortgages to pay and jobs we need to do that ultimately take priority over running!

she clearly controls what she eats very careful, and loooooves her tiny appearance. It's disordered, whatever she got injured or not.

But she will never be elite, so for me that level of devotion is just as a controlling thing. A way to feel in control.

Georgina Weston is similar in that she seems resolve her entire life around running and is unlikely to ever reach elite level. She is mid/late twenties and won't move out of her parents mansion as her Mum drives/cycles alongside her for every run, she runs twice a day Monday to Friday, Park run every Saturday, long run Sunday morning and gym Sunday evening. Her only holidays are to races abroad. She even gets up at 3am to run in circles around Manchester airport so not missing miles before a flight.

It makes you wonder in 10-15 years time they don't have partner and missed out lot of social occasions and freedom of 20/30s was it worth it.

her battersea vlog there was definitely a man she was sharing a hotel room with… curious!
I don’t mind her to be fair, she speaks a lot of sense about training, commits to S&C, has done a few good videos about actually affordable running gear, that sort of thing.
I do find it odd that her mum essentially comes on her runs to get her content though, isn’t she in her 30s?

Maybe he is the reason she decided to put a holt to the marathon!

I don't actively dislike her, as she never shares what she eats and her strava is private so it's not like she Iis advocating people follow her crazy running. Her make up is not my taste, nor would I feel comfortable running in Nike pros and sports bra down rural Lincolnshire Lane. I do think she would benefit from joining local club, but I guess if you've grown up been spoilt only child it's hard when others are similar level or better

The most pathetic measly pancake “stack” i’ve ever seen in my life. AND the plate is tiny AND she zooms in on it! It’s basically a tiny scotch pancake! Why does she put things like this online? Surely she has seen actual pancake stacks and must see the difference

Kirsty changed her bio - running shoe reviews? Let us know when you start doing those hun….

Does anyone care about those? I don’t trust any reviews from these insta runners. They are such sell outs. This is just a sad attempt at a beg for free shoes. Leaving aside the fact that shoes are something very personal. What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another so would anyone rely on that rather than just try out for yourself?

Spring is in the air and are so many DNFs to come....
He's never going to learn, is he? Most people who've spent four weeks nursing a hamstring injury would slowly return to running. But not our Ben! It's just seven weeks until this lot:
  • Boston - 15 Apr
  • London - 21 Apr (six days later)
  • Mallorca 312 - 27 Apr
  • NDW50 - 18 May (despite saying he's avoiding ultras for a while...)
  • Comrades - 9 Jun
Gotta get the content to sell his overpriced hats and singlets.

And this clown charges £150 a month to coach and is always fully booked with coaching spots. These people paying are absolutely stupid and are definitely robbed by a clueless fraud
I saw one of his plans (I think to run sub 3:30 or something like that). They are definetily too much (too many sessions/and lots of miles). These IG people can't undertsand that not everybody is an influencer with a full day to run.

Someone told me this too. They followed his plan and did get a sub-3 marathon but said the miles got ridiculous at points and they had to miss some runs as there was just too much running. This from someone who is single with no kids too, though obviously working full-time.

The guy who shows me the plan was knackered the day of the race, absolutely overcooked. I did much better than him with less everything (our times for other distance were similar, no time shaming or anything)
