I know the bit you mean, there's so many people there it probably would be easy to cover your number and cross to the other side. But why would you 🤷‍♀️
I am I should add, about the same age as Henry Viii would be if he was alive now, this was my first London and I was about 19, back then it was just that red and white ticker tape and you could duck under, the “proper” barriers do make it a little harder. But yes… why would you?!

A US runner has just run the American Olympic trials 7 months pregnant, Anna will be seeing that as support she can keep running marathons until day she goes into labour!

If its Megan Krifchin, she ran to 18 miles and stopped, probably planned to. She is elite though so relatively it would be much less of an effort.

Anna never tapers or recovers from marathons , she just runs a constant 30+ miles a week, bet she will be out running 6 miles at 5am a few days after marathon, proclaiming how “she just loves running marathons”. All the entourage will be dragged out to watch her run the race too.

Anna will be doing the marathon because she just loves to binge run. She has exercise bulimia. By all means run through pregnancy but be responsible. Respect your body. Pregnancy puts a strain on the body, marathons put a strain on the body. It’s stupid. Social media also has a lot to answer to. People will be fawning over her whereas they should be telling her she’s a twit! People need to be responsible with their likes, kudos and praise.

The run this morning in the cold and the wind was so unnecessary. She didn’t feel like it well just say in bed then. I didn’t feel like it this morning and I am not pregnant. Went out and felt fine after a few miles so kept going but I was absolutely ready to stop and turn around if it hadn’t improved. Sometimes you don’t know if running will make it better or not but she could have also just gone for a lovely walk with the family later in the day. What she is doing is the exact opposite of listening to her body.

bleeping hell, just looked at Anna’s Insta. What a snooze fest. I love running! It works for me! I just love running! Same photo staging, same fake smile, fake everything. Does anyone just go for a run these days without having to document it on social media? Running influencers need to move on. I don’t give a flying duck about some housewife’s 10k at 5am because she wants to binge all the beige food later and not feel bad.

Yeah, it's the "why" I don't get. Clearly people do cheat, but you are surely only cheating yourself?
There was a lady on that Marathon Investigator site who had cheated Berlin (possibly) 2 or 3 times to qualify for Boston. All her other marathons before and after (including Boston itself) were like 5+ hours, yet she could do Berlin in about 3.40 (with a load of missing timing mats...). Why cheat to BQ when all your other times make the cheat time stand out like a sore thumb?! I couldn't do it, I had a dodgy Garmin result recently which gave me a 5k PB but I declined it from my PBs as I knew it was off and it would bother me not to have earned it.
Also - if you’re a 5 hour marathoner and then rock up at Boston when everyone can run around 3:40… wouldn’t that be a bit demoralising?!

So irresponsible of Anna. Yes, listen to your body in pregnancy and if you can still run then go ahead but there's absolutely no need to go to those lengths.

Plus can you imagine going into a potentially long labour process the afternoon after you run a marathon. duck that.
I think she has been taking notes from a runner who lives very close to her who, at 9 weeks post partum and post c-section, is back trail running. Kind of awaiting their disordered meet up!
