Is he even running Chicago this year? If not, why join a group specifically for that race in that year? What a sad case. His blog is terribly written and an absolute snooze fest

To be fair, some of the groups just update their name eg I’m in a Berlin 2023 group - originally 2022 - I’ve stayed in cos I can offer some help / advice based on my experiences. Though based on stories of previous creepy behaviour, I hope he isn’t offering too much help or advice 😬

The Chicago marathon preliminary corral placements were released today so thought I'd check in on one of the big facebook groups. Appears one of the pests is expanding their reach
Ooooh look at me with almost two 6 stars and one count of sexual assault

I thought we left Joe Exotic in lockdown?
He looks like a home bargains version of Eminem

Bascially a constant re-hash of

no training
fry up and pints in the airport
buy loads of tat at the expo
eat loads of rubbish the night before the event
mention family as much as possible
make excuses for tit performances in races where he isn't pacing

You forgot the ‘then get home and work out how to pay back the ridiculous loan I took out to pay for it all’

Reminds me. Who remembers his go fund me page for Tokyo in 2019ish?! Claimed he’s help so many people pacing that it would be good for the community to give back so he could get his 6th star 🤣🤣🤣

Anyone got any tips for making running in the rain less painful? Got two runs to do this weekend and its going to be so wet and miserable (I am a fair weather outdoor person!). I may do one on treadmill but probably shouldn't do both
I've got a lightweight jacket which is fine for drizzle but not rain rain

if I know it’s going to be a rainy run I just get up and go in the morning (disclaimer that I live by myself and don’t have kids so I can pretty much run whenever I want!) before my brain wakes up enough to realise what I’m doing 😂

I just wear a baseball cap so the rain doesn't go in my eyes, if I get wet it isn't so bad as long as you can get straight in the shower.

I also don’t mind the rain, particularly when it’s warmer rain like at the mo. freezing rain not so fun. Virtual London October 2020 - not sure I’ve ever been that cold afterwards! I’m also with the cap / visor tip - other than that, normal running stuff, no jacket just shorts and vest / tee in this weather!
---
On a different note, I’m thinking of getting sungod ultras - tried a friends on and the vision / clarity is so impressive. Will I look a complete twit though? Will only wear for running, not sitting in the pub or beach or people might think I’m about to do a science experiment 😂

The ultra style is very popular at the mo, watching the Tour de France and a lot of the riders are wearing those visor style glasses, when it was very much more the Oakley style in before that.
I have sungods, but more traditional style. They are a year old and still good as new. I had goodr before but the reflective coating all flaked off (on two pairs). The sungods were a lot more money, but seem well made/lightweight.

Rain - I like it too, but it is not great for glasses wearers sadly, need wipers! Even wearing lenses can be a pain if rain is getting in your eyes.

I also love running in the rain (and am not deterred by hail or snow!) but the only piece of kit I’d advise is a baseball cap/visor so the rain doesn’t go in your eyes. Embrace the rain and the quieter streets!
Yes was going to say a hat to keep rain off your face. Don't wear too much clothing - skin more waterproof

I have the mclaren zephyrs ( Yes I was influenced by the curly head God, Lando Norris himself) and they also have fantastic clarity!
