Is it just me, or has she never been more weirdly Britain-centric? The viewers will be from all over the world.... So "the Victorians invented Christmas"? Does that include the multiple versions of the Nutcracker that you are displaying? -- And Ibsen's play is a festive Christmas book?? Yuletide, you say, is that from Victorian origins? 😒

Genuinely don’t believe that she’s even aware that The Dolls House and the Nutcracker etc are translations… like surely that would come up in her surface level blurb reads… but no..
 
Just curious, but when does she have to apply for her Doctorate at Oxford to get in next fall? She hasn't said anything about that lately. She also seems to talk less about how her self-learning is going. She's been doing it for 3 months now. Is she getting anywhere useful with it? We mostly just see her writing or typing out lists of busy work. I haven't seen anything worthwhile or earth-shattering. Has she abandoned it like she abandons every other project she sets her mind on? I can't believe she will waste her December on more Victorian playtime vlogs. Haven't we already been here, done that? She sure is a waste of time. I can't imagine looking back at my 20's and realizing I have done nothing worthwhile. No full time career-centered job, no friends, no dating, no growth, no relationships, no plan, no purpose. So weird.

That's really all the make-believe "SALF STODDY" curriculum was ever going to be: Fake busywork for her to pretend to do on camera to make it look like she's doing something productive with her time during her latest year off. Her vlogs all have a predictable list of fake/embellished activity categories that she rattles off to look endlessly busy - studying, reading, "WAAAHRK", PONKIN PODTIFEAAA, YEECHEEB and MOINDFOL LAZSHA ACTIVITEAAAS (going for a walk, going for a "RON") - and with her being out of education again, she would've been without a core pillar of her fake persona if she didn't make something up.

I don't believe she ever had any intention of actually studying anything in her spare time. It's why she picked things she'd already studied at length on one or both of her degrees, so that she had a bunch of existing lecture materials and borrowed notes compiled on Notion to lazily pull from if she wanted to parrot something in a vlog while pretending to study. It goes to show how little interest she actually has in academia that she couldn't think up anything new to even pretend to be interested in learning about.

Looks like she has until 7th January to submit her application for PhD, so expect a continued lack of content and plenty of vague-posting on Instagram about how STRASSED she is in December.

Deadline is early January. I’d presume her app is ready to go/with her prospective supervisor to get feedback. Or she’s panicking still deciding what to propose.

I think it's really sad tbh.

She is wasting herself by staying at home and doing absolutely nothing. She's almost 25 and still clinging on to her 12 year old child genius obsession.

I feel like she's just being left behind whilst her peers have moved on and living their lives. She's just emotionally stunted.

It was also one of the main festivals in Early Modern England, the time period which Ruby did her MA about. There's a Shakespeare play about it. And it's why, even today, in England we traditionally take our Christmas Trees down by the twelfth night. I am surprised she got this wrong.
