As a United fan it was an emotional day hearing the news about Lady Cathy yesterday. She was an incredible lady and gave Sir Alex incredible support throughout his career. They met when he was 22 and she was 26. She was Catholic, and Sir Alex is Protestant. Their union was frowned upon at Rangers where he played (and he had to eventually left despite it being a dream move).
In 2002 she encouraged him to make a u turn when he planned to retire. I posted this in the Footballer Wag thread. This is an extract from Never Give In. Rest in Peace Lady Cathy and thank you for everything. ❤️

Actress Haydn Gwynne has died aged 66. She is best known for her roles in Drop the Dead Donkey, and as Camilla in The Windsors. She was a brilliant character actress.
Am heartbroken, having first seen her in 'Drop The Dead Donkey'. She was also a well renowned musical theatre acrtess too, and was due to appear in Stephhen Sondheim's Old Friends ( celebration of his career) in the West End. Wondered why she'd pulled out at short notice as I was looking forward to seeing her (and others) perform. So sad. This one has really got to me.

It has come as a bit of a shock, I didn't even know she was ill.

Because she's always been tall and thin, I just thought she had aged in recent images but she did look gaunt and very thin when she did the 'Old Friends' TV special about a year ago. She might not have been ill then but as she was due to be in the current theatre run, I'm presuming it was one of these rapidly progressing cancers so might have been recently diagnosed. It's just so very sad.

Sounds like it was pretty sudden :( Loved her as Camilla in the Windsor's :(
