I've just done a quick Google search, which didn't come up with anything. So I guess he didn't have a brother in Showbiz.
I think it’s Bernie Winters I’m thinking of, can you believe the age of Richard O ‘ Sullivan in those pics? It only seems like yesterday they were on telly.

Its heartbreaking what happened to Richard O' Sullivan. He was a relatively young man, when he had a stroke. He has been in a care facility for years. I've always liked him.

Bernie Winters had a brother called Mike. They were a comedy duo for years, until they fell out. Mike moved to the USA, Bernie stayed in the UK.

That’s sad ,I didn’t know he was unwell . I remember Robin’s Nest and Dick Turpin he was a great actor.Bernie and Snorbitz the dog were what I remember his brother was easily replaced lol .Saturday night tv was watchable back then, when I watch the old 321 and Bullseye the prizes are hilarious, there was a camcorder the size of a TV studio camera 😂 and of course nobody wanted a speedboat 🚤

The story as reported on a BBC doc a few years back was Bernie was having a fling with a girl 20 years younger and Mike didn't approve of it. That among other stuff caused tension and they finally split. As you say Mike moved to the US and did a variety of things including becoming an author and doing the first US pantomime among other stuff. Bernie on the other hand carried on with the comedy and started a new double act with a huge St. Bernard called Schnorbitz (showing my age there) as well as hosting. They did makeup towards the end but never worked together again.

My mother's friend's son had an accident at work about six months ago, trapping his hand in the door. He didn't think anything of it when it took time to heal then he had a stroke. He has had to learn to walk again and still can't speak properly. About a week ago, he fell and was hospitalized. The doctor who was treating him didn't like what they were seeing and said to his mum they were worried about Motor Neurone Disease. They did a lumbar puncture that was concerning so did other tests and unfortunately, the news has come back that he does have MND.

It's heartbreaking as he is only 34 years old and has two young sons with his ex-partner. They still have to test how advanced it is so there is no idea yet regarding life expectancy but from what they looked up, they will be lucky if he has another five years.

This might not be the right thread, but Mike and Bernie Winters are the subject of a legendary showbiz story in Glasgow.

Mike comes out on the stage of the Glasgow Empire, the so called graveyard of English comedians. Mike's trying to give out his patter, to a stoney silence. Bernie then wanders onto the stage. From somewhere in the audience the remark is heard "duck - there's 2 of them"
