Real Life Crime & Murder #27

The news of the oxford teacher has made me cry, I can't take this all anymore. What is going on? There's not a thing we can do about it, just before I was looking for a rescue dog and the sheer volume broke my heart. I hate this society, I hate it hate it hate it, it's destroying my soul, how can everyone walk around every day and carry on with their lives seeing all the agony around? I feel like in Western society now we are all just collectively struggling, just to exist and have little joy, while we are powerless to help those who suffer even more. 6 month old babies. No jail, not even the register for life. He should be in jail for the rest of his days, end of.

I haven't seen much reported about this trial I don't think, though BBC were covering it. What a senseless waste of so many lives.

Absolutely awful, the fact they chased down people with knives over some bricks and then they were actually two innocent boys. What the 45 was doing with them is strange too. That's two boys murdered and the rest of them inside.

I wondered if the 45 year old is a parent or relative? Age wise it would fit.

Just totally senseless violence, it is horrific

This is the Oxford teacher. I think serious questions need to be asked of the judges reasoning as to why no jail or signing the register for life.

The public really are loosing faith, well I am!

The boys throwing the bricks also had massive machetes and an elderly woman was injured. I don’t agree with what this gang did to the poor boys as they were just going out for pizza, just the news made it sound like boys who threw the bricks weren’t causing that much distress or damage until they showed the cctv and they had massive knives too. Bristol’s knife epidemic is getting out of hand. It’s so depressing, feels everywhere in this country is going down the shitter.

How on earth this man wasn’t jailed I don’t know - the dog attack, threatening to kill his former partner all while he’s on license. What on earth does it take for them to recall him to jail, I’ve heard of people being recalled for minor things compared to this (as in I’d rather have someone who was in possession of a spliff as their breach than someone who’s done this)

He may well have been recalled to prison but that wouldn’t be featured as part of his sentence for a new offence. His recall may have been considered when passing a new sentence if he’s spent further time in custody

Seems like the boys with machetes would have attacked anyone in their frenzy, terrible they got 2 innocent boys.

There was a news report earlier about a deceased woman locked in the boot of a car. Suspicious, apparently. You don't say 🙄

Not much detail at all though at present.

I feel like if he had been recalled they would have said, and it would have been part of the judges comments re:the suspended sentence rather than focusing on his health. I’ve seen numerous times before “as you spent X weeks on recall, the sentence for this offence is Y”

More detail now. Missing from Corby, found in Ilford. Sounds like it's probably domestic.

This is very close to where Zara Aleena was murdered.

A woman found dead inside a car boot in east London has been named as Harshita Brella.

The 24-year-old had vanished from her home nearly 100 miles away in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Her body was discovered inside the vehicle, which had been left near a park, in the early hours of Thursday, November 14.

Police had gone to her home a day earlier on Wednesday following a call expressing concern for her welfare.

Police have referred themselves over previous conduct so guessing it's a domestic situation. Poor woman, another one murdered by someone they loved.

Why do I feel like the courts are trying to normalise societal acceptance of p-a-e-d-o-p-h-i-l-i-a ? These sentences are consistently shockingly low and disproportionately lower than other less serious crimes, as others have noted. What kind of deterrent are they? With the accessibility of child abuse images and videos and porn addiction/desensitization/curiosity this could become a serious problem for society.

I really hope a fellow prisoner puts nuts in his food (he has an allergy).

Thankfully he has an unusual surname so could be traced fairly easily 👍🏻

Her husband’s being sought for the murder

Another case where there’s been previous police involvement .

What the hell has happened to this country??? Peodos not being sent to jail but for numpties who post stupid statements, it straight to the clink!!!

And why do I feel that the police spend more time trawling X than they do trawling the streets for criminals???

And yet another man murders a woman and the police were already involved.

It's soul destroying.

Agree.
And it’s like society as a whole has become completely desensitised to the raging injustices of the legal system, and the lack of/misused resources in the police forces.
Look at all the open letters and petitions that are created over various issues; I don’t recall ever seeing anything that asks for a complete overhaul and investigation into the priorities of the police and the judicial system.
It’s like we’ve just accepted that society has become a cesspit and if we, as individuals, are affected by actual physical crime we have to shrug our shoulders and get on with it.
As for the weakest in society, especially our poor children, the law is downright callous in its disregard.
Even safeguarding bodies are barely fit for purpose because they’re under resourced and hand tied.

Rant over. 😔
