However, I have no sympathy with someone who feels suicidal after being caught. If you weren't trying to chat up a child this wouldn't have happened. That poor child. Horrendous. Was the "mother" jailed for 6 months or 6 years? hopefully the latter.

I think it was 6 years, I'm sure that's what the article said. 6 years isn't long enough, imagine protecting your sick partner against your own child.

This case still horrifies me. How the mother didn't get as long as him... Imagine raising a child for 16 years, disbelieve your daughter in what must have been so hard for Bea to disclose... Let her be murdered then help conceal the body disregarding your other how ever many childrens feelings of ever knowing where their sister is. Just don't understand how she got off so lightly when she is also disclosing where the body is. Hoping she won't be released till she does

Exactly just because she didn't murder her she still knew she had been horrifically murdered as he wanted an alibi. Some people just don't deserve to be parents, I wonder what happened to her other children too I'm sure she had 10? Awful all round. There was that law meant to be coming in (Helens law maybe) which means murderers can't be released until they disclose where they buried their victim. I think that's really important because I couldn't imagine not being able to give a loved one a proper send off.

I know. Those other poor kids have probably been separated unfortunately now, as I believe a few had disabilities that meant they needed a lot of extra care. Wasn't she pregnant when arrested too? TBH I wasn't sure if that law was already in place but thought he would have a hard time getting out until he revealed where Bea was but as an accomplice of her own daughters disappearance, she should not be released until she tells the whole truth. I know, I couldn't imagine not knowing where a loved one was and not getting the chance to lay them to rest. She has a brother of a simular age and he believed his mother (don't know if he still does) but he kept on searching for Bea 💔. I really hope they get some truth someday.

That's such a shame, those poor children potentially finding out their mother and father killed their sister. I read about the law and it was enacted in 2021 unfortunately after Helens murderer was released. It says that pedophiles who didn't admit abuse may not be released either.

She was forced to look and act younger her entire life. It's likely that's the only voice she knows how to speak in. Neighbours didn't even realise Gypsy was an adult.
Re the boyfriend he already had a history of violence and had been caught watching porn and masturbating in public. The simple fact is also that Gypsy took a plea and testified against him because he committed the murder. She got 2nd degree murder and he got 1st.

When you think about it, it’s shocking this hasn’t been the law all along. Our justice system has a huge belief in rehabilitation- how can someone be rehabilitated if they don’t disclose where they disposed of their victims body/bodies? It just makes a mockery of everything.

IMO these days THAT many kids is a tell that something is rotten in Denmark in the household. Either it's a religious cult thing or a 'fill the empty hole in my psyche' thing, or occasionally likely a 'breed victims to abuse or financially exploit' kinda deal. Sometimes a combination of the above - see the Duggars and their ilk for an illustration of religious cult thinking and financial exploitation.

I've never seen anything in modern times to indicate the above isn't the case in families this large where the woman has child after child after child until they cannot anymore.

I got the impression that she was was just one of those women who was too feckless NOT to get pregnant, if you see what I mean. You know the ones, they claim no form of contraception works for them. Every new relationship would have brought with it more kids, maybe because in her mind it cemented the bond with her new man. She could also have been abused herself of course: physically, mentally, sexually. That might account for why she didn’t believe her daughter. I’m not excusing what she did, she’s clearly an absolute scumbag, the pair of them were.

What I can’t quite fathom was the set up involving her ex still living with her while she embarked upon a new relationship with another man. Those poor kids would have had such messy, chaotic lives.

Gypsy came up with the plot to kill and talked him into doing it. Obviously out of desperation to escape her abusive environment. But it just kinda seems a bit sad that she has got out and he hasn’t been given a lighter sentence.

for what it’s worth, I am fully in support of gypsy being released and not even sure she should have been imprisoned in the first place - though definitely placed somewhere with mandatory intense therapy to deal with her life.
but the guy she met online was also clearly a troubled teen and I just feel he’s been let down by the system by not being able to have access to therapy too, and instead being chucked in jail until he dies.

but I guess the American justice system is as warped as their gun laws so no hope really

I have to completely agree. The woman was suffering hideous abuse and he helped her. Obviously had mental deficiencies himself. First degree murder seems harsh given the situation.

Sad case all round. Genuinely hope she finds peace
 
Omg,I’m just watching what a killer did next on sky crime. Horrendous

The murder of Nicola Stevenson in Lewes Sussex,very vunerable lady,she took pity on people and took in homeless guy that murdered her,Richard Canlin,evil bastard,stealing from here she told him to leave,ignored her,dumped her body in wheelies bin..When police went to flat,he was there but wouldn’t open door,Police broke it down…so sad,poor lady she was very vunerable was only 4’ 9”.
He hadn’t even cleane up Murder scene,blood everywhere.🙁

He will never ever ever be “rehabilitated”. Another addict who’s insatiable need for that ever so harmless drug cannabis took him to a fantasy world of violence and psychosis and resulted in the death of an innocent women who in terms of talent, intelligence and potential was so far above him she might as well have been a different species.

I’d like to think we eventually caught him due to good police work, but no, it was pure luck. We let Sara down very badly. I hope to god the parole board don’t do the same.

Whilst I agree he is beyond rehabilitation, cannabis is not the “gateway” drug it’s purported to be.

I’m on a medical prescription, have been for a few years, and my want to get another drug is absolutely zero. It’s the best medication for my needs, I get it prescribed (privately, although the nhs would also prescribe.) I am happy that my medication I’m on is less likely to result in secondary issues than antidepressants alone. And it’s my manufactured pills that actually cause me problems.
