Listen I’m very conflicted about this. As somebody who finds crime and murder fascinating I like to see real footage.
You have to admit all of us are a bit ghoulish for our interest in these subjects.
I don’t understand why people felt Nicola was so off limits. Very often the media and/or police will show this sort of footage but for some reason people have become very protective of Nicola
---
It’s not like you could see her body. It was just the police recovering it.
Maybe despite our interests, we realise however that this is a real human being, who had a life, a family, a past. Someone who could be any one of us. Thankfully, true crime/missing people cases are changing in many ways that the focus is on the victim/person, and that they deserve their privacy. We realise that the internet is forever and her daughters are going to eventually see all this. Some people however remain ghouls. If this was my mother, do I want footage of the police pulling her out of the canal out there??? No way. Most of us have more respect. You have to take a look at your own lives and that of your family and ask yourself the same question.

Maybe I’m more pragmatic and not so emotional. If my body is covered I wouldn’t care if there is footage of me being recovered.
I’m also one of those people who will leave their body to science. For me a body is just a vessel and not the actual person. Once my “spirit” for lack of a better word is gone, I don’t really care what happens to the body

And as far as my body when I die, I’m the same. However, I’m not talking about how YOU would feel. I’m talking about how your family would feel or how you would feel if it was your family member. You have to try and see things from another point of view or how can you possibly understand the other perspective?

I know the NB threads have closed but I’ve just seen that they’ve removed PF from the NCA’s list of forensic experts pending an investigation

Also it’s been revealed that Mason Greenwood’s partner is in fact pregnant

What's that? Why that's the sound of the worlds smallest violin playing just for Mr Faulding. He may be an expert in his field but in this case he came across as a self-promoting prick, stirring up tit with his contradictory running commentary.

I'd never heard of this case, but it's absolutely shocking that he dug her grave weeks before beating her to death with a claw hammer, and still managed to receive a manslaughter verdict.

And for her family to now be facing his potential release after just 13 years...words fail me.

I can’t believe I’d never come across this case. What an absolute monster. Her mother sounds like a very strong, warm woman. I’m so glad she brought the children up.

Poor child, I saw someone say on twitter that’s it’s even more proof he did it.

Men don’t go back to women who falsely accuse them of abuse but women end up back with their abusers frequently. Horrible situation

Allegedly yes.
She’s a utter gold digging fool.

Not to be too harsh about this lassie, but once she'd made the allegations, if she'd followed them through, between whatever payout she could have got from him and selling her stories to the media, she would have probably been well set up.

Instead, she's stuck with this guy for life. Equally he's stuck with her.

Jings how life has changed. In the 60s and 70s people tried to avoid pregnancy. Now it's a career opportunity!!!

13 years for that. It’s just awful. 13 years for such evil.

Totally agree. Imagine being tied to this guy forever now. Pondlife!

Curious to hear what you make of this case which is a confusing one I can't quite follow. I'm in Glasgow where it happened.
Rhys Bonner
Went missing after telling his mum, they were a close family, he was meeting his gf. Last known whereabouts he was sighted with a local woman in the area or they think a guy pretending to be a woman named Donna Drummond.
Fast forward to his body is found, and appallingly through video evidence found that the police dragged his body with next to no dignity across the crime scene... Upsetting but then they said inconclusive suggesting he'd run off and it was foul play. The police have buried their noses in the sand since and sadly havent worked hard on the case or updating the family. They are lower class, living on a scheme, she would tell you herself. She just wants the truth. Now the part I don't get is there's involvement of a guy known as cazza... Who is he to everyone? He keeps getting housed places around Glasgow then found out and hounded out by vigilantes. So he's obviously in some way connected. Donna Drummond was arrested then let go.

Exactly this. My uncle died in a freak accident which was reported in newspapers. One of the articles had a picture of a body bag being carried away from the scene. It felt so unnecessary and insensitive, to be honest, it absolutely broke me. There is no need to do this.

Documentaries on this week which might be of interest. Think someone has already mentioned the Charles Bronson one.

Tonight - Bronson: Fit to Be Free?, 9pm, Channel 4
Charles Bronson is the UK's most notorious prisoner, referred to as “one of the most violent men in Britain” by the press. After serving 48 years, he is due to make his case for release at a parole board hearing held in public – one of the first of its kind. This two-part special gives voice to some of his victims, those closest to Bronson, and various members of the criminal justice system, to ascertain whether he is fit to be released.

Thursday - Murder in the Pacific, 9pm, BBC2
This documentary examines the May 1985 bombing of Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior, that had just returned from a visit to the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean where the inhabitants were suffering the effects of nuclear fallout following the 1954 testing of American H-bomb Bravo. After travelling south to Auckland harbour, New Zealand, two explosions sank the ship and killed a crew member

She’s got 20 yrs.Vile,vile evil woman.

She's been "jailed", but it doesn't look like she's actually been sentenced yet. There's no way she would have got 20 years, I'd wager maybe a year or two at worst, probablyy suspended.
