Prince Andrew #2 Airmiles Andy - Randy Andy - The Toxic Prince

Agree. The first song was funny, but it went a bit off the boil later. I did like ' Everyone needs an Andrew'. It made a good point about the Royals hiding their shady dealings behind the allocated black sheep of their generation.

Yes I agree, even as a royalist myself it did make me think they had a valid point on that.

Also, I found it funnier satire than most of the revived Spitting Image

The first ten minutes were novel
then it was very blah and just made background noise
not a lover of musicals to be fair
why was Charles so unlike charles
i didn’t get that
charles has never had a beard..has he?

Laughed out loud at many points. To be thoroughly enjoyed after a few drinks this time of year (watched it on Ch+1 which meant more drinks had gone down, which probably contributed to the enjoyment). Good fun, to go along with not take too seriously. Laughs for us, discomfiture for the Yorks; what’s not to like? 😂

Him & Fergie’s ‘arrangement’ really IS ‘bizarre’ isn’t it?! Was that bit about a joint car insurance policy based in fact? Seemed so.

If you haven’t yet watched it, do. But for silly fun and irreverence only; don’t go into it looking for some realistic acting or anything like that! 🤣

Must’ve been to get the jubilee out of the way especially if the rumours of the queens health were true…His spokesman has refused to comment.

Did he still have his titles when she gifted him it? I’m not sure how it works as she was still alive so technically not inherited but a gift .
Was shocked to see it was only for a year.

Yes it will be a gift. Gifts of money over a certain amount can be subject to inheritance tax I’m sure. Otherwise what’s to stop anyone with proper wedge just handing it over to their kids right before they pop their (royal) clogs?

I'm really surprised that it was only for 1 year as well. From Andrew's pov that was a poor enough return on 12 million (not that I feel sympathy for him or think he's hard done by - just that 12 million is a lot for 1 year of silence). He must have been under a lot of pressure to settle.

I'm sure The Royals don't pay inheritance tax

Yes that is a really shoddy deal for him, as well as having to apologise to her and trafficking victims. For someone with unlimited reserves of mummys cash, that really is a bad deal. If he had nothing to hide, he could have taken her all the way in court.

Didn't the money also end the case though? So it's not just her silence but stopped legal proceedings.

That was always the suspect this for me, she went from demanding her day in court saying its not about the money, to taking the money. So is she now going to earn millions from books, interviews etc? Guess for Andrew it's the best deal he could hope for. It avoids jail or criminal record.

It still annoys me he seems to be the fall guy for it all. I don't believe for one second he is the only high profile powerful man that visited these places

He was definitely not the only one. And it is galling that the only person looking at jailtime for this is a woman. But I think Andrew us the fall guy for this because that was always what he was meant to be. He is so stupid that he was dazzled by shiny baubles and false friends. Everyone else knew there was a chance that they would be exposed and that they were doing something criminal and put contingencies in place to cover up their illegal and immoral behaviour. Andrew was so stupid, arrogant and entitled he simply didn't care who he was partying with, and the girls he was shagging were just there to service him, just like any other servant, and didn't deserve respect or consideration. Epstein probably set him up with that photo and invites and he was stupid enough to fall for it.

It stopped the court case, but he didn't have to agree to end it. Guiffre has limited funds, Andrew didn't. He could have taken it all the way if he really wanted to clear his name, yet all he could do was shut shame her ( something he was forced to apologise for as part of the deal)

Which is exactly why he didn’t!

William and Harry had to pay inheritance tax on what they were left from their mother.

It is maybe just immediate family of a monarch who don’t pay, due to the wealth being so vast.
Diana wasn't a member of the RF when she died. I think The Monarchs assets aren't subject to inheritance tax, but it may be Monarch to Monarch, so Andrew would still have to pay, but I don't know.

Or she had a lot to say 🤔

Not sure I buy that. Think the papers just going for easy clicks. She has nothing to add now that hasn't already been said
We don’t know that, she didn’t get to go into the gory details.

Of course he wasn't, if he had been smart he would have kept his head down and said nothing, but he isn't smart just arrogant spoilt and entitled and used to toadies pretending to believe everything he said, cue Newsnight. I have no sympathy for him at all, he did it to himself.
