It's the same principle with Harvey Weinstein: speak up and you'll never work in this town again. Hence he was not brought to justice for decades.

It's been a while since the Sundays had more money to splash on exclusives. Now they just wheel them out when they have them instead of saving it.

I've never heard of Mathew McGreevy threatening to "ruin" Phillip outside of the NTAs but somehow it seems out of character for a man who Eamonn Holmes painted a picture of being quite vulnerable, in need of money (not sure if that's flagging some sort of drug habit or otherwise, maybe just socialised / partied hard? London is not a cheap place) and being cast aside, out of the way from Phillip in a new job, promoted no less (you wonder who okayed this - there must have been some discussions and contracts signed somewhere along the line - there will be a trail. Likewise, there will be a trail for the poor runner ousted from his job to make way for MM).

The "in need of money" part might well be a clue as to what's happening and the situation that will likely remain - that Mathew may take hush payments and will be happy enough living a life of obscurity, I assume relatively comfortably (in comparison to being on the dole or doing minimum wage jobs). Some people would be all over that! What it means for his mental health long-term, is anyone's guess.

I think if he was going to talk and was intent on ruining Phillip, he'd just have went for it whilst he was still upset and angry (I'm guessing at his emotional state) - he'd have done it around the time of Phillip's outing on TV.

Also, call it Stockholm Syndrome or being in denial, I don't know what it is and I think it's rare, but some make peace with those who manipulated them when they were younger. Maybe Mathew has forgiven him in some way and just wants to get on with his life. And there's nothing wrong with that, if that makes him happy and he's not being bullied into it. The alternative is being gagged, angry, bitter and feeling powerless (I really hope not). Or Phillip manipulating him emotionally.

I still think there are more who will talk, unless Phillip has a bottomless wallet and is keeping his lawyers busy. But what about Phillip's future sex life? Is he going to be celibate from now on?

Why would he at least not issue a statement saying that everything Phil is saying is the truth?
He could shut this down in less than a minute. It's got nothing to do with privacy as everyone knows who he is, so it speaks volumes that he isn't setting the record straight

That's a very good point. Especially as now, he will never have a career in the media. I hope the lad has some sage people in his corner.
 
Filth knew what he was doing, playing the Caroline Flack card. People are terrified he's going to top himself due to the public humiliation. Even Flack's mum has got in on the act, begging people to #bekind.

CF took her own life because she feared a prison sentence for assault by beating, plus she was mortified by the loss of her career and the subsequent shame. The reason she was due to appear in court has been almost completely forgotten, and everybody mourns the cute little blonde with the bright smile, who died by suicide because of the mean and horrible press.

Filth isn't remotely suicidal, he is carefully plotting his next move. He's probably got a ghost writer lined up to write his tell all book, front cover a photograph of him wiping away a tear.

I dont know, he might take that job GBNews offered him, that would be hilarious. I'd like to think he can work in tv again if he wishes too. I'm concerned why he is keeping quiet and who else he might be trying to keep out the press, his own parents may wish for him to keep quiet, we dont know what his family acceptance of his possibly being gay has been. Did someone say he's had to come out because of this?

Wasn't there supposed varying statements from MM via a representative? 🤔 about him not wanting it to be public etc. I only heard that one but what were the others.

Although a quick Google and I dont see any statements In print from MM

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but this thread moves far too quickly for me to keep up with and I might be way off the mark.

In the interview when he said he had text HW and said something along the lines of you probably aren’t allowed to reply was this before or after ITV ordered the independent review?

If it was before then why wouldn’t she be allowed to reply? It’s a strange thing to say and implies that there is something going on legally?
