Perimenopause moans #2

1
I could have written this (although I get flooding during my periods). My digestive issues are so bad at the moment that running has to occur via toilets and yesterday when I got there I realised I had to run home in a very embarrassing state.

My medication for my cluster headaches now requires me to be on contraception (due to new research). I can’t be on the normal pill due to the cluster headaches and the mini pill was giving me a period every 2 weeks. When I explained to the dr that I was in a gay relationship (of 20+ years) and that there was zero chance of me getting pregnant, I was told that wasn’t a good enough reason. Tears. Jury still out as to what will happen (no chance of a coil due to things happening previously.)

Why can’t we be listened to? We are all experiencing these problems and we are still being treated like children who cannot be trusted.
Just stop taking the pill and don’t tell them. Don’t suffer if you don’t need to.

It’s tit that we’re all suffering but it does help me to know I’m not alone in it.
Had a totally brain dead moment today at work today, completely forgot a word, it was on the tip of my tongue but couldn’t get it, total menopause moment.

hair is also thinning, the grey coming in has made it dry and frizzy but on closer inspection it is thinning around hair line.
Got my derma roller out last night, try and activate some hair growth! Although it will likely be grey and frizzy af

My GP has changed my HRT from Evorel Sequi 50 to Evorel 75 and 2x100mg capsules of Utrogestan for 12 days a month. No problems whatsoever with the Evorel patch but I'm suffering side-effects with the Utrogestan. Fortunately the headaches have passed but I'm still feeling jittery and hot. Will this pass? I've heard of women taking it vaginally due to fewer side-effects, has anyone tried this please? Info differs online. Thanks in advance.

There’s a FB group called Totes Meri Peri, there’s lots of great advice on there, lots of them advocate taking it vaginally as helps with side effects

Spoke to doc yesterday to get some tranexamic acid and he said normally after one year you get moved from sequi to conti, I’d never heard of that, and said if there was a safety concern I would like to not thank you. He also brought up mirena as a solution for heavy bleeding and I told him absolutely never doing that again and he was cool. Referred me to different gynae hospital than last time as per my request and did my prescription. After my last phone appointment where the woman I got just argued constantly with me it was very nice!

Very normal to move onto continuous progesterone after being on HRT for a year, may help with bleeding. I was prescribed conti from the start as was already on the POP and haven’t had a bleed in years. Also may help with other symptoms as you’ll be getting a continuous dose of progesterone

I’d just never heard of it, and progesterone is not my friend generally. Mirena was awful, progesterone pill gave me three months continuous bleeding and thoughts of suicide.

I had a nightmare with the Mirena but then also had an even bigger nightmare getting them to take it out because they kept telling me I had to give it time, despite it being 18 months later.

My friend had a horrendous time with Mirena but in the end they were forced to take it out after her body started to expel it. She was doubled over in pain having contractions at work one day and it turned out that was what it was. I've been put off the Mirena or any other coil ever since!

I’ve had zero issues with the non-hormonal coil fwiw
Yes me too, has been the best contraception for me. I am sensitive to hormones, Mirena made me tired and depressed so did Cerazette, so I am a bit worried about HRT. I am 50 but have no symptoms yet other than occasional brain fog and being tired

The pill never agreed with me either but HRT has been my saviour! My symptoms were… monthly migraines, fatigue, ADD like symptoms, extremely low mood, night sweats, prolonged and painful periods. Gave up alcohol and caffeine. These helped plus HRT and I’ve only had 1-2 migraines in about 8 months.

Has anyone had period pain with slight spotting but no period actually turning up?!
I have this regularly. At the moment I have a period 18 days after the last like this, then I go 42 -45 days without another.
Have to take my mooncup everywhere with me as I never know now when I will need it.
