I’d forgotten about that bit already lol
See that’s a whole other storyline right there!
Hmmm too much of a bombshell for it to be mentioned then nothing else
How on earth is this going to wrap up in 2 episodes?! It’s been soooo slow so far
I hope so or I can see it ending like thisthe last episode is 90 mins so there’s still time!
I rewatched the whole series and he does mention Duke’s mum to Lizzie (he doesn’t say her name but presume it’s her) and says he told her he was going to change the world. She sounded like she was as special to him as Grace so presumably he’ll bring him into the fold?
You’re thinking of Tommy’s first love that died of consumption before the war. I think this was just a one night stand type thing
My understanding is that the black cat is whoever tipped off the IRA about the details of Mosely's assassination, it must have been someone with inside info. The IRA were not confided in about this plot, someone told them. I think that fella who was singing in the pubs and fixing football matches for the Peaky Blinders - Billy Grade - could be the black cat. In series 5 after a drunken Finn tells him "A fascist will die tonight" then stuffs a bundle of notes into his hand and leaves. Billy is then seen immediately picking up a phone to make a call.Re the Black Cat (sorry I know I keep on about it!) was it meant to be the IRA lady because didn’t she say that she got rid of the people at Mosley’s speech who tried to assinate Mosley and killing Polly?
I'm probably in a minority, but I'm enjoying this series being more about Tommy's state of mind. I found last night's very hard to watch though, with Ruby's funeral and then Tommy at the end, that was too close to home for me and I feel a bit haunted by it.
I wish someone would just put a bullet through Diana Mitford, actually think she's worse than Mosley. Sadly she died in 2003, unrepentant. Both were interned in the war though as fascists.
Yes I've been reading up about Mosley and Mitford since seeing them in Peaky Blinders. Presumably as Tommy is still working for Churchill, he is providing info to him about the fascist movement and Mitford's 'friendship' with Hitler which is why they ended up interned in the War, so not quite a rewriting of history as some see it?
I'm also still enjoying it.
Mitford was actually the cousin of Churchill's wife... Didn't realise that until I also did some reading up.
I'm enjoying the series but it definitely has a different vibe about it, doesn't feel like the normal Peaky Blinders we're used to.
