PCDs Elis James and John Robins #2 Is it us? Are we the drama?

I think you must.

Reading the vibemail this morning and why am I not surprised that people messaged John/Elis/Dave in Wednesday during the presale. Boundaries, people! boundaries.

There needs to be an eye roll emoji for reaction. Not for your comment but for them! I swear!

There was a literal whole episode on the dance a while back, and I think the lads feelings on it were made quite clear. What do they think messaging Dave is going to achieve? That he's going to go "oh no you're right random Internet stranger ill change this whole set up because you're unhappy". Some people are just.... the worst.

Have you secured tickets to the dance? I'm thinking I'm going to do both. It would almost be rude not to.

Exactly!! Ugh

I have my tickets. My current Ticketmaster account is the boys and Oasis. A true Venn diagram.

Lou has moved away to the coast so I dont see them being in a relationship personally (hopefully)
I find her scattyness a bit much. Small doses is fine but I dont think I’ll watch this.

I understand what you mean @SwishSwing

I personally don't think Elis would ever leave him because being the nice guy he is he's very aware that John needs him. Lou doesn't do it for me she's like marmite not sure how successful a working relationship would be for that reason.

Also controversial I find John's reaction to the Cymru connection frustrating he doesn't like its not about him.

I do feel a bit like the feature has run its course. The theme tune is great but it’s a bit stale now. * runs and hides *

John made a complete arse of himself last week insisting actually meeting the Go Compare bloke wasn't a true connection.

Personally I love it, although appreciate it will have a shelf life - although given 80 Dave's lasted most of the year I'd be sad if they binned off CC quicker than that.

Here is my current hot take - if they both insist on doing beauro de change of the mind entirely in accents every week it might be the first Elis and John content I actively bin off - everyone seems to be loving it though, but I found this week's one properly painful

Don't you put that thought into the universe! Haha.

I quite like the Cymru connection but I'm less of a fan of the banter surrounding it, if that makes sense. It was like Around the World in 80 Daves. Had the potential to be a fab fixture but it seemed like they had non fans on, which made it awkward, kind of like the Cymru connection kind of thing.

Re Lou and John. I dont think Elis WOULD leave him (god my heart couldn't take it), but I have felt for a bit they're pushing Lou, who i can take or leave (mainly leave). John mentions her early on in his Howl show and I was like oh this better not be 90 mins of Lou anecdotes 😂

Yes I think you’ve summed it up. It’s the chatter I don’t get. Do the feature, have it be people who know the premise, move on.

also @Snrub, I am with you. The format doesn’t work and it’s just not particularly funny.

I think I’m snarky today so probably will revise all opinions in a week or so 🤣😉

Another rant about the bloody Beuro content - full on accents again, and at the end Dave asks for some more emails to be sent in for the segment, but what on earth could you send in, cos someone sent in a perfectly reasonable question about John's gig for GPs and he wouldn't bleeping answer it cos he was in character. Just really don't think it's for me.

On the flip side, really liked the heart- tugging BBC Sounds fake advert on the Christmas episode

Yeah, it was bad. And Elis doing his one Scottish accent that they all say is great but really isn’t 😑

The bureau de change is a load of crap!

My friend has just messaged me asking if I've listened to this week's one because it's set in Aberdeen, where I'm from, so I've given it a listen as my first venture into the Bureau and quite frankly, I didn't find it remotely funny. I wouldn't go as far as saying offensive but I think it was on the cusp of it for me...

The accents were shockingly bad, their stereotypes weren't even Aberdeen and John took over in a way I don't enjoy.

Broadly, I don't mind the main pod being John heavy as I quite like the dynamic but when he goes into accent / character I find that's when he gets annoying for me, almost like he needs to keep talking for fear of losing the accent sort of thing.

I won't be returning to the Bureau. Send it to the bin with DI Robbyns. Not for me.
