Is Christopher Walken very ill?
I still think of him as being in his Deerhunter era.

I actually put him down for my guess on the who's gonna pop their clogs next thread. Deeerhunter was an amazing film and important film, that Russian roulette scene is carved into my memory. I feel pretty contradicted on this, Walken has been one of my fav actors for years, I passed him in the street once, thought I'd gone mad and started seeing people who weren't there. Still not strictly sure now!

It was the three of them on the boat right? Wood, Wagner and Walken.

Don't know if it's bad lighting or the angle, but he looked so much older in the pics taken of him at De Niro's birthday a few weeks back.

As for him saying anything, I doubt he will now after being quiet all these years. The actor Robert La Tourneaux who was in the 70s film, The Boys In The Band did an interview about his closeted lovers back in the day and alluded to Walken being one of them. He also claimed Walken and Wagner had a thing which is something many believe to be true thinking Natalie walked in on the pair of them and that started everything off.

While no one knows for sure about Christopher, Wagner has long been rumoured to be Bi. Friends and family of Natalie said the first time they split was because she caught him with their butler that he brought with him when they moved in together. After what happened with her second husband, she got back with him because at least she knew what she was getting with Robert. He also stayed with Clifton Webb when he first moved to Hollywood and although they were seen as Mentor/Mentee, many thought Webb was his sugar daddy.
Such a change in the pictures you posted and the one I posted! Looks quite ill there.

Great photos.
Them spelling out LUX must mean LUX Radio theatre shows. My husband listens to them endlessly on some podcast or other. Plays with incredibly famous people like James Stewart, Cary Grant and Bette Davies for eg. Sponsored by LUX soap. They always have an incredibly clunky ad 'Miss Lauren Bacall, may we ask you the secret of your soft skin?'
'Why yes I use LUX soap. So luxurious. And affordable too'.

How lovely, I’ll have to look into that! I was wondering what they were spelling out.
Haha I can hear Lauren Bacall’s voice saying that

Does anyone have any intel on Mae West being biologically male? I watched a video about it the other day and it seems ridiculous.
Raquel Welch said she resembled a dock worker in drag. Her death certificate was signed by a doctor and undertaker and it said she was female. There have been rumours she was a man but I think something would have come out by now which was more substantial. I mean one biography tried to claim she was secretly black.
I think Mae got a lot of her inspiration from gay and lesbian communities but I don’t think she was male.

One of the supposed stories going around was the real Mae died in 1950 but rather than admit it and risk losing all the money she brought in, they pretended it was her brother who died and he took on the persona of Mae so no one would know the truth. Those who believed it pointed to the fact that she started to look different...bone structure, more masculine features etc. forgetting she would have been around 57 so of course she wouldn't look like she did in the 30s.

The problem with this 'theory' is her brother actually passed in 1964 so if we were to believe the 'she died and was replaced by him' story then who took over playing 'Mae' after he died?

It's during menopause that women do start to look different, bone structure changes in the face and unfortunately due to hormones we do start to look more masculine and strangely as men age some start to look more feminine. I don't think some people realise that.
I think Mae aged very well, probably due to her good bone structure. She was almost wrinkle free in her later years.

Years ago my sister was working for a medical type company in Berkshire worked there for years, she said they had a well known actress working there, she seemed ok bit snootyish, her name was Joan Rice she was English actress and in the film His Majesty o’keefe with Burt Lancaster, few other things as well.

Remember that film?I do.

My dad went to see Mae West on stage in London not long after the war, he said that she looked absolutely beautiful and incredibly young from where he was sitting, like a woman in her late teens...he raced round to the stage door after the show and was shocked when he saw her, as she was mid 50s by then and up close looked much more her actual age, not bad as such just much older than he was expecting. He was always impressed by just how good her make up skills were though to have looked so good from afar! (I honestly think this story is where my love of false eyelashes began 😂)

Mae West played Mae West until the day she died.

Has anyone seen her last film 'Sextette'? Absolute bonkers film. She was in her late 80's and decided to cast a 34 years old Timothy Dalton as her husband who was desperately in love with her. 🤣 The film also had all her characters ex husbands and suitors all fawning over her. She thought she was still fabulous and quite right too!! Apparently no one ever knew her real age. It was all guess work.

I love Bette Davis and All About Eve is one of my favourites. She's great in The Letter too. If you ever get the chance to see Now Voyager - well, she's just fantastic in it. What a fab film and brilliant performance from Davis and the other cast..

Interesting, I'd never thought of it quite like that before about the bone structure changes - and your comment makes sense if you look at the above photo of the older Dana Andrews, Gene Tierney and Vincent Price!

Sorry for confusing posts - the Bette Davis pic refers to the first part of my post. It's a still from Now Voager, highly recommend.
