Even then it was well-known about Flynn and younger women but no one gave a tit because of who he was. He only got off on the statutory rape case because they slut shamed the two girls who he assaulted. For one of the girls, some witnesses saw things and she was checked over by doctors who said an assault had happened but it wasn't allowed as evidence because the doctor was female. In the end, it was his word against the two girls and they used the fact the girls weren't 'perfect little angels' and he was a 'brilliant actor who has entertained many' to get him off and it worked.

Fabulous look at her, whoever edited the footage together did an amazing job. She was so much more than just that actress that got married 8 times.

Miranda (1948) is going to be shown on Talking Pictures tv on 27th October at 6pm. One of my favourite films which I would wholeheartedly recommend. I believe it’s on YouTube as well. It’s starring Glynis Johns as a gorgeous mermaid, it has Margaret Rutherford, Googie Withers and David Tomlinson — before him and Glynis played the Mum and Dad in Mary Poppins!

Thanks to this thread’s recommendations I’ve heard of lots of new (to me) films and I’ve ordered the James Spada biography of Grace Kelly as well — can’t wait to read it! So thank you!
