If I turned round to my husband and said I had really thought about what a holiday means to me and it no longer includes fun with him and the children, discovering new places, maybe trying new activities or food, treating ourselves without worrying about work or school for a few days.

If now it included just time for myself at a wanky retreat, probably costing thousands so ruling out any time away for anyone else in the family, I'm pretty sure it would not be received well.

The writing was on the wall when they had their second wedding to be honest.

If he had a regular 9-5 job, I think he would have walked long ago. Maybe the fact that he gets a break from her on tour and when she goes off solo is what’s keeping them together.

ETA - and of course, she will want to keep up with Anna! Probably kicking herself that she and Jimmy didn’t get in there with a “remarkable” divorce first!

She should take a moment to count her blessings and realise that a lot of parents really do have a life of struggle with children with medical problems and additional needs. From what she tells us, she has pretty easy children on the whole.

Christ, if my husband turned around and said he was re thinking holidays and from now would be swanning off on wankfest, solo retreats to “find himself”, I’d tell the mid life crisis wanker I was leaving him.

This is going to sound v mums etc but as much as I crave pockets of time to exercise, catch up with friends and to use the toilet in peace, I would hate to spend a holiday away from my small kids and partner. I don’t get to spend that quality time with them as it is. It’s either away from them at work or that hectic home time before or after work.
 
She really needs to stop blaming adhd for everything that she is not doing or that goes slightly wrong! It's actually doing a disservice to the many people with adhd who manage to fully function, have a job, keep themselves and house clean etc! And yes this comes from experience
