Notsosmugnow #3 Her life is too hard, her kids are too needy, Cat’s only happy when she’s getting a freebie.

URGH. I've been saving to treat myself to a Honey & Toast bag for my birthday and just spotted she’s done a promo with them. I guess these brands decide it's effective to sell out and devalue their identities in this way.

When I want to make a considered choice to buy something I will love and hope to last for years, it really is a kick in the teeth to see people like Cat grabbing freebies when we all know it'll be shoved on Vinted or relegated to the bottom of her wardrobe in a few months. It's what she does every time. I suppose it's better I saw the ethos of the brand before I spent my money with them. 😒

She’s such a control freak. She’s moaning about her daughters sleepover like it’s something horrendous.

I have a daughter the same age. She regularly has her group of 3 friends to sleepover. I leave them to it, as do their parents when she sleeps over at theirs. No need to micromanage, set activities and bedtimes for ten year olds, even for a birthday party. I go to bed, they all know they can come and get me if they need me, and I reiterate that every time, but I don’t stress or whinge about it.

She makes her own life ten times harder than it needs to be.

Is there an option for none of them, and especially not the incredibly patronising and awful 2 mums and penny the midwife?
