Wow. The similarities/parallels between this story and Nims cannot be denied, and are frankly terrifying.
This paragraph particularly stood out:

Lordon aside, there’s definitely a dark side to Barley and the longer she spends there, the more at risk she becomes.

Wow, she didn't post anything on 11/11, either something is going on or she's again away at retreat and will post something in the upcoming days.

My God, that poor woman... So many resemblances with Niomi is not even funny. I honestly think Niomi's situation is incredibly dangerous and we only see 10% of it.
The fact she's not posting could mean two things or maybe a mix of both: she's having very very depressing days, has hit rock bottom and doesn't feel like posting at all; Lordon tells her the reason people criticise her is because they're jealous of their lives and their relationship. I mean, there could be a third option, which is she indeed went to another retreat but this pattern of not posting constantly has been happening for a few weeks now.
 
Oh geez, she’s going down a very dangerous rabbit hole (more dangerous than what I thought) - I actually didn’t realise that she does follow a lot of VERY VERY dodgy pseudo-science/anti-intellectualism based Instagram accounts that are spurting out total spiritual based NONSENSE that is actually UNTRUE. Sometimes this can unfortunately be the same pipeline that people end up following when they start becoming quite religious but in a concerning way - more than just spiritual - and their spiritual beliefs actually start to become very detached from reality. I’m not saying that’s going to happen to Niomi, but wow… upon seeing so many of the weird/pseudo/nonsense Instagram accounts she follows and the bullshit they’re posting - it has me pretty worried.

She seems like she’s actually in a very vulnerable state where she’s not really seeing things for what they are, and that she’s starting to think that all of us who are part of the mainstream are ‘wrong’. People who start to think like this can be very easily manipulated, and that’s when the dangers of cults/cult-like mentality can arise, because the person is lacking all critical thinking skills and then they start getting taken advantage of by weird pseudoscientific/scammer types who manipulate them so easily. I really hope she’s still in touch with other people in her life (family/friends), and that they’re keeping an eye on her or at least checking in with her to see how she’s going. It’s concerning (and doesn’t help) that she’s essentially trapped in Bali and so distant from her previous life - not to mention so far away from people who would be able to pull her into line.

Ugh, sorry for my rant - just had to share! I’m honestly still a bit shocked at how much she has changed and how much her content is changing… I can’t believe I used to envy her and her life back in the day!

This could mean she has been offline even longer than we think. 😅 It becomes harder to tell what is real. Very bad for someone in Niomi's situation. AI could probably create photos and text generated from her previous content. We have even heard her generated voice on her substack.
 
There is so much more weird stuff she follows, it never ends. I'm sure most of us follow some trivial stuff on social media just for fun, or out of curiosity. But this is a different caliber. It's so weird to see all this new age stuff next to the posh brands she still follows.

I'm sure Donkey is heavily into this 'I'm blessed and have insight and am therefore better than you' twaddle. He can blame all his shortcomings on the universe having a bigger plan for him.
Niomi I'm not so sure. She says all the words but we know she'd drop it all for a country house, two children and two dogs and lots of brands deals involving trips to London. With a handsome Joey type husband. Who looks like he washes and smells pleasant.
 
I think rainy season has deepened her depression. She’s always said the weather affects her mood. Only in Bali, there isn’t the twinkle of Christmas lights, the excitement of glamorous parties, or the extravagant Christmas gifts/freebies to take the sting out of the cold, dark weather. Christ, girl hasn’t even got an oven to make warm food.
I don’t think we’re going to get any juicy titbits or any explanation re her radio silence, she’ll just pop up on Friday to tell of another yoga class on Sunday, then disappear again. The end.

Oh but could you imagine if she popped up at Big Tezza’s like “Oh hey, I’m just getting ready for the Fashion Awards. My favourite night of the year!” 🤪
 
Two or three weeks ago Jamie posted a couple of derogatory ‘learnings’ about popular social media people saying not to look up to them as behind the smiling, perfect facade they are sad and imperfect. Not his words but it was along those lines.

Must have been in his stories as I can’t find them now.

I saw it as a quite obvious dig at Niomi. Did anyone else catch these stories? I feel he’s made fun of her and undermined her confidence to the extent she’s scared to post anything other than moped realness in a rainy building site Bali.
