Nah I reckon he just got angry at her and wanted a break - she was probably being overly dependent and getting on his tits in the tiny flat. She said “ I don’t do breaks we are either together or not” He said “ok not” and she expected him to run after her as she went back to her mums place but he didn’t. Her time out on social media was her eventual realisation that she is no longer engaged

I agree. He does not seem like the type. And he would feel horible if he did such a thing to her. Would have felt so ashamed and knew the world would hate him for cheating on her. He would not be throwing casual peace signs on Freds Insta stories if the cheated on her. He would be lying in bed crying with guilt with his troubled conscious.
 
I think Joe maybe knew/suspected more about his job than he was letting on to Niomi. He was probably getting updates about when it was likely to start up again and where. He knew that he was going to do it no matter what and that Niomi wouldn't be keen to blindly follow him given the pandemic. So he knew that a break-up was likely to happen and he was waiting for the right time to reveal all. That's why he moved them into the flat with Freddie because he knew it was temporary. Niomi must've felt things were off but she wasn't expecting him to drop the bomb that he was going back to his career and dropping life in England for now.

I can imagine a fair few of us have been through the trauma of being cheated on. But ever wonder if an emotionally/sexually unfulfilling situation could drive someone to cheat even if they're good human beings? From watching the Bridesmaid vlog (Joey just looks tired, I feel like we're reading too much into it) and also from their cozy meals, feels like it was a sudden shock. Now Joey also doesn't strike me to have the balls to suddenly call things off because they're unfulfilling. Niomi (like many of us here hehe) does strike me as the type to go through a fiancee's phone though. :unsure:

Just rewatched A Sunday in the heatwave vlog and it's all about control control control especially related to food and food portions. And poor Joey in the background saying Im sooo hungry. My boyfriend is around the same height as Joe and loves having healthy food days (Im vegetarian) but if I tried to starve him like that I think he'd chew my leg off.
At one point in the video after they run the 10k and go stretching after, finally get to eat a avo toast and an acai bowl for Joe 😆, they go shopping, he's barely awake and then she stays home chilling on the couch and says Joe went out to have the car washed (weird that they wouldn't go together, we do carwash together), occurred to me that he probably used it as an excuse to get a burger 😜
After that she shows the quarter of a watermelon they bought because who could eat the whole thing, then warms up some leftover vegan food, makes sure to mention that Joe has double of everything, then she makes some banana brownies which actually look decent and says they probably won't have them that day cause they're so full from dinner 🙄🙄🙄

Imagine then in lockdown when her need to control everything was even stronger and he had no excuse to sneak out and grab a burger. And this went on for months, of course he changed his mind.

was just getting round to watching this video and I wasn’t expecting to pick up on anything but YES she’s so purposefully saying ‘first night in OUR flat’ with an emphasis on our’. You definitely get the vibe there has been a lot of tention / perhaps arguments (though their issue may have been that they never argued things out and kept their feelings bottled up) around the move to the flat and Freddy. Niomi obviously been trying to assert that as Joe’s fiancé it is her flat too etc.
Joe seems fed up throughout the video. The only thing he is excited about is the vegan chicken nuggets, and he didn’t even get a portion to himself.
I wondered if Niomi was insistent about moving back to London, Joe wasn’t happy about it but his compromise was to move into his flat with his brother.
It was also strange at the end of the vlog Niomi bringing up that she’s excited about filming recipe videos. I feeling like she made a huge fuss about needing control of the kitchen to film her cooking videos, have to put the racks up.
Watching it all with the knowledge of the upcoming break up, but the whole thing feels a bit tense and passive aggressive.
