i just hope his team don’t start running before they’re walking tbh, even though i think that’s happening already. project and recognition wise he’s nowhere near some of these other actors that always get brought up in his interviews - his current pr are doing him no favours (sorry nick! i’ve just found a lot of his recent press very icky, especially the anne hathaway namedrop when he presented the pole position trophy this weekend). it wasn’t a good look when jacob did it, and he’s a “bigger” name.

and yes! meet me in the grounds of kensington palace, i’m sure they’ll let us in 🤣

given that he and his team were definitely setting him up as a indie paul mescal no more princes boy, this is an odd one for me. maybe it’s the final movie in his amazon contract 🤣

but he gets to go blonde again so it’s a win for me!

 
Well, I think there’s a reason the whole He-man thing was in development hell for so many years, so I’m not super optimistic about this one. And coming from Mr „the script has to be super great“ Galitzine who was after roles that were offered to Mescal and Chalamet, this is a bit of a choice, for sure. Paul and Timmy are also doing blockbuster movies now, but AFTER their Oscar-nominated turns in critically acclaimed small movies.

like i said, his team definitely got ahead of themselves with how they framed a lot of his interviews (and some of the stuff he said in them). i saw a few of his fans saying he should be in knives out over josh o’connor and, like, those two actors are not the same. it’s absolutely a bit of a choice, and i do wonder if it’s still tangled up with any kind of amazon contract that he has. it was not at all what i was expecting after his whole vibe of late.

I think it was a bit of a shame that Mary&George kind of came and went. His performance in that was so good, but I don’t think it was widely seen beyond his fandom. He’s literally doing an awards campaign for a movie released last summer, not a tv show that came out in prime Emmy nomination time. Critics just didn’t care enough.
The Idea of You is a hit, but not the project that will get him the roles he and his team clearly think should be next for him.
 
Yeah I feel like Nicks people got ahead of themselves and risk alienating his pretty loyal fan base. Pretty boy actors come and go.

As mentioned this really goes against desire to be a serious actor.

I've got a horrible feeling he has been cast as 'prince adam' and he will be cgi up as he-man (like hulk in mcu) and it'll look crap.

agreed. they should have taken a breath to embrace what he had for a moment instead of going fully into the i’m not doing romcoms anymore! no more princes! those movies just let me make the art i want to make! stuff. like LG says, he was great in mary & george but it’s a shame that sort of got lost a bit outside of the main actors’ fandoms.

i think you’re right! he-man just doesn’t look like a “real” person so i’m expecting cgi 😂
