I think some men are inherently selfish, and mine has a distinct lack of ability to challenge the status quo. He keeps asking what I want for Christmas and I said I want some time to myself on a regular basis and I want less shit in the house. He said “I’d rather you choose something from De Beers then” which is meant to be funny but to me is just a way of saying he’s entirely comfortable with my severe unhappiness at the moment. I can’t remember being *quite* so unhappy and trapped in my life.

I actually think mine lacks any form of empathy too. I burnt my hand quite badly yesterday off the oven dish and he didn't ask me was I OK at all, the first thing he did was criticise me for not using the oven glove properly

I asked himself to spoon feed the twins today and he couldn’t because he had to get ready for a funeral, which is fine but he still sat there for 20 minutes on his phone and watched me feed them some days I can’t stand him breathing

It's infuriating, I have threatened to throw the phone at him so many times. He would happily sit in the living room after work and look after LO while I clean up and make the dinner. Yet LO usually ends up around my feet while I do it all. .

Same here. It's just the lack of interest he shows cause he's on the phone. It drives me mad. Like pay attention please its only an hour
