There is a lot of frothing and raging about Matt Hancock and Gina on a thread that has now reached about eight pages long. How dare a man hug and kiss his girlfriend that he hasn’t seen for three weeks its so very disrespectful don’t you know. But you don’t have to read too far to see that most of them were left by their ‘DH’ for the ‘OW’ and realise that it’s just a lot of projection on their parts. Men have left their wives for other women since time began. Get over it. It’s no one else‘s business. It’s not nice but people who are happy in their marriages don’t have affairs. That’s just a fact. They say similar about Charles and Camilla and they’ve been married nigh on twenty years now and we know his first marriage was sodding mess from the off. I think it’s no wonder that their DH’s cheat on them and they must be a nightmare to live with.

Whenever I read a thread in relationships, usually where the husband has done something supposedly really awful, I would love to hear the other side of the story. So many posters claim not to have had an active sex life for years, no interest in sex because peri/meno/childbirth/kids - there's always a reason, and people responding to the thread are almost always 100% sympathetic. Then when they catch hubby wanking in the bathroom, or looking at porn, they go absolutely apeshit.

I like the 'DH doesn't watch porn' posters. Of course not every man does view it but there was a methinks-the-man-doth-protest-too-much post along the lines of 'My DH doesn't watch porn, he says it exploits women and infringes on their human rights and he doesn't want to be a part of that. He says all his friends who send each other videos are pathetic'.

She must've got a nasty taste in her mouth from swallowing all that BS.

I just imagine DH saying all that with his fingers crossed tightly behind his back as he thinks lustfully about Busty Belinda and her beautiful bazookas.
 
This has probably already been discussed so apologies if so but there were 2 posters who used to completely dominate the relationship boards about 8 years ago when I was a regular Mn reader and it always bemused me. One was anyfucker and the other was mathanxiety. I did start out really rating them and they definitely gave good advice that I’m sure empowered women in genuinely abusive relationships to leave which is of course good. But after a while it got to the point where I couldn’t understand why they spent SO much time advising others about their relationships. And more to the point why people seemed to absolutely. ADORE. them. Like you couldn’t go against anyfucker, anyfucker knew everything and people worshipped all the golden wisdom of anyfucker every time anyfucker pronounced on someone’s relationship. And also why didn’t anyfucker use capitals? Looking back it seems so pretentious. Are they still around? And WHY did people think they were so amazing?

AnyFucker is still around although she got a pasting during lockdown when she posted asking if it would ok to go to her holiday home. Majority of posters said no, it’s bleeping not ok except one person who said because it was AF, then yes, she’s a beautiful exception who gives wonderful advice on the relationship board and for that alone, deserved to go on holiday when no one else could.

AnyFucker burnt her boats with a lot of her fangirls by whining about not being able to travel to her holiday home during lockdown. Suddenly, she wasn't their loving but stern auntie, dispensing good advice, but yet another middle-class woman thinking the pandemic rules shouldn't apply to her. She tends to post one sentence these days, that's her trademark. I have no idea why she is so revered. Same with Vicarinatutu. She's got a long running thread about her various health issues and she's so attention-seeking, it's embarrassing.
 
Is Vicarinatutu the same poster as stillvicarinatutu? If so they seem really unhappy working as a police officer: they post huge, long posts in any thread about the police about how tit the job is now (along with another police officer called Felix who writes long, boring posts that don't address anyone's points).

Oh god, yeah. The ‘I’m ill and no one cares 🥺’ thread. Saw that the other day and couldn’t even be arsed reading it.

I’ll tell you who I haven’t seen for ages and who used to get right on my tit ends. A poster called HoneyBadger, who I think was one of the OG’s. She used to post stuff like ‘AIBU that a middle class woman like me is bouncing round the house to rap music?’ duck. OFF. She was mates with HullyGully, who was absolutely bleeping vile and doesn’t post anymore unless it’s a ‘can you remember these posters’ thread, where she’ll pops up the minute someone says ‘I miss Hully’ (although that doesn’t happen much these days as the site has got too big).

Christ I'd forgotten Hullygully, she was a horror. All that OG lot were bloody irritating though, such a bunch of basic witches. Who was the poster who always used to type a load of nonsense, ChaosTrulyReigns I think? Proper try hard.
The other girl gang lot I didn't like were Reality, Shiney and their little crew. There was a big blow up relating to Mamazon which I can't remember the ins and outs of but I think some or all of them left after. That's years back now.

Something also went off with TheDevilWearsPrimark who I think got outed as a troll, she was quite a big name at the time.

I'm so glad I don't post on there any more!

I’ve just been trying to work out whether Tate and Lyle icing sugar is less grainy than silver spoon because I am lazy and want to make American buttercream for my cupcakes at the weekend and it led me to a wonderful MN post from 2017.

The OP explains politely that she’s just moved to the UK and can’t seem to get her American buttercream right - she explains she’s vegetarian so doesn’t want to make Swiss meringue or Italian meringue buttercream so she just wants to know what icing sugar might be less grainy.

As someone who knows a pinch about baking the replies are a HOOT. I can’t work out what I like best:
- people asking her WHERE ARE YOU FROM OP?!!!????? Icing sugar is icing sugar!!!! My buttercream is not grainy, and then they explain their recipe for buttercream (most don’t understand American buttercream is a _type_ of buttercream…. )
- posters telling her she’s using the wrong type of sugar - it’s in a PINK PACKET, SUSAN, PINK, you’re OBVIOUSLY using the wrong sugar!!
- posters being utterly OUTRAGED that this woman won’t eat egg whites. “DON’T you mean you’re a vegan?????”
- posters being HORRIFIED that anyone would actually put eggs in their buttercream…. “EGGS?? In buttercream?! Who is putting EGGS in their buttercream?!”

One solo voice of reason finally enters the chat to explain that Silver Spoon recently added an anti caking agent that means it doesn’t dissolve as easily and to plump for Tate and Lyle instead (thank you that person)

More outrage ensues… not sure OP ever comes back…

I have always thought she was trolling and don’t believe she was in the police. PCSO maybe?
