Don’t know what’s going on there. One of mine was desperate to audition (doesn’t have a hope in hell) so we uploaded the videos. No one asked me for a fiver. But then I’ve heard nothing since we did that so maybe this is some sort of next stage we haven’t gone to. Not going to check - life would be unbearable if my child actually got a part!

My husband would love that parrot by the sounds of it lol. My in laws used to have parrots and my husband is desperate for another one. He wants a macaw. I can just imagine my toddler and a parrot arguing 😂😂

This sums it up perfectly. That’s EXACTLY how it is here for many people. I knew Trump would win. Democrats, unfortunately, had totally the wrong candidate and the wrong strategy. Their biggest mistake was losing RFK Jr.

I also read that a lot of Arab-Americans were thinking of voting for Trump because of Biden and Harris's attitude to Israel and Palestine.
 
I remember seeing some prissy little wanker on mumsnet on one of the ‘is this stealing??? 🥺🥺🥺’ threads say that she’d had something scan for £4 that was meant to be £14. The silly bugger only called for assistance so she could pay more, lest tesco be financially ruined and she be forever branded a thieving yob. In my humble and correct opinion the whole point of scan as you go is to see how much you can nick, they’re saving so much not hiring people to man the checkouts they can get to duck 🤷‍♀️
 
There's a great thread "Should I let my neighbour use my shower" - and all the Mners are piling onto the OP saying how mean she is to not allow her neighbour to use it. This is a neighbour she barely knows.
I don't believe for one second that they would even have swapped phone numbers, let alone answer the door to someone. No way they'd allow a virtual stranger into their precious bathroom. :rolleyes:

I have family members who went on a 6 week long cruise. They ran up a huge ship bill for excursions, drinks, food etc all secured against their payment card. Cruise ended, they went home and the card was never debited. They chased the cruise company up (the bill was over £1k and they knew it would be taken eventually) and the cruise company said "no, it's all showing up as paid off - you definitely don't need to pay it".
They kept the money to the side for a year, it was never taken and so they got all expenses on a 6-week cruise totally free.

It’s the other camp that are annoying me 🤣 ‘your neighbour is so cheeky to ask this’ ‘we were brought up to be FIERCELY independent, I wouldn’t never ask to use a neighbours shower’

The poor woman only asked to take a wash every other day!
 
They’re doing my nut in (oh please think of the children, what if one has a nut allergy 👵🏻) about the election. I don’t like Trump, I’m disappointed he won. But guess what? That’s democracy. He was democratically elected by the people. So suck it up and deal with it. There’s no nuance and seeing things from other points of view any more. And that’s the problem. That’s why he won! Because of pearl clutches and the woke brigade (and I consider myself liberal and open minded but they even do my bleeping head in!) bashing anyone who has an even slightly alternative point of view to theirs.

Most of them don’t even live in the US for Christ sake. Rant over 🍷

Similar happened to us though a much smaller bill. To be fair we didn't exactly chase them, just hoped they'd forget about it but about a month after we got back they contacted us and asked for the money☹️
 
Work sent me on secondment to Israel and paid my expenses twice. I waited a while (years) and they never asked for it back. £2k was a lot of money 20 years ago. 💵

I never felt guilty because I was furious I’d had to pay in the first place and not be issued a company card.
