Mumsnet is literally the last place I’d go to for parenting advice, there’s so many unpleasant wee shiters lurking with bated breath until they find a thread where they get to kick someone when they’re down. They have to be deeply bleeping unhappy to act the way they do!
It's an absolute shame what has been allowed to happen to mumsnet.

There was a time, quite some time ago now, when posters could ask questions and get advice. Now it's so overrun with trolls that nobody dares ask anything and when they do, they get a kicking, regardless of what the question is. And of course a lot of the time the questions can be posed by trolls too.

I feel really sorry for any poster asking a genuine question there now.

They’d be so conflicted. On the one hand, they’d be foaming at the mouth at the thought of anyone on UC having enough to save. On the other, it prevents you from being FAT.

Yes, but this is losing weight the WRONG way. Plus, as everyone knows Turkish hospitals are the equivalent of a goat shed and surgeons the goat-herders.

Tbh, given yesterday the bright sparks over there were owning up to spending £190/month on broadband and TV - it’s not the UC claiming population needs budgeting advice!

Not exactly. They were complaining about their DC being taught about Jesus being nailed to the cross, when we all know that Easter is all about chocolate eggs and the Easter bunny,

Haha you just never know with Mumsnet! I imagined the opposite scenario: parent complaining that schools focus on Easter egg hunts rather than Christian teachings.

The thread is still there if you fancy some entertainment:D

There’s an entire thread on the poor souls who are struggling to make ends meet on 60 and 70k +salaries.

bleeping budget properly then! Millions of people survive on far far less, even in London.

Threads about money always baffle me, I just don't get it. I now just assume that 99% of it is made up and they all just lie about what they/their friends earn. I saw a thread recently where someone was saying she's struggling on £50k household income and all the posters were like 'oh well I'm not surprised, that's a tit wage, it's basically NMW and you're getting paid pennies, your boss is taking advantage of you'. I must be an idiot then because that's what my husband and I earn between us and think it's pretty bloody good for our age and where we live. But no, apparently we're minimum wage losers and should be earning double that

I earn just short of 30k and my husband earns a tiny bit more. We have a house, a car, a child (hopefully two, fingers crossed, as they say on MN, 8w +3), we have holidays in the sun and life is good. No cleaner, no au pair, no tradesmen shitting in my lavvy. I wouldn't swap my life for a 6 figure earning, niche hobbyist in a million years.

TBF, it's not massively over NMW. If you had a 2 person household both working 37.5hrs per week at £11.42 (NMW) then that would be £44.6k per year.

However these people don't seem to consider that it's still a lot of money especially in some parts of the country and not every household is privileged with 2 adults capable of working.

They talk tit.
There was one last week who reckoned she earned so much that she was in the top 1% of high earners in the UK.
Yep, whatever you say sweetie 😂
Earn so much that they've time to boast on MN.
That's before they start asking advice as a manager on how to handle certain situations.
There was one before I got banned asking what to do about a situation with a staff member. I called her out and told her she must be a tit manager if she didn't know how to refer to HR for advice instead of asking on MN.
That caused a right uproar with everyone basically defending the clueless idiot.
The bleeping wallopers.

Ref the sexual assault thread.
I read it and I thought.....
If this is true ( doubtful ) then how come you didn't.....
Notice that your fourteen year old daughter was getting pissed to the point of vomiting?
Why didn't your daughter alert you that this lad kept trying it on with her?
Phone the police instead of posting on MN.
Spend time comforting your daughter instead of posting on MN?
That'll be because it's all made up and possibly stolen from the documentary about 15 year old Rehtaeh, the American teen, who committed suicide after going through the exact same scenario with the exception of the assault, where the poor lass was raped by four teens, rather than assaulted by one.
Personally, I think it's a bleeping filthy pweirdo who gets off on teenage lasses undies, along with the rest and it's hoping for some stories in return.
Actually she was Canadian but I agree - way too similar and too many “why didn’t you do this instead of that?” for it to be true.

At the moment NMW is currently £10.44 so between us it's nearly £10k more than minimum wage and we are both going up a few k per year in April

Aww congratulations!! Is there a name for a baby tattler? A tattlet maybe

They ask for advice, whilst also slagging HR off as being completely useless and a career for “bored housewives”. This is why I will not advise anyone on there now. I am not completely useless and I have never been a bored housewife (just a bored HR professional!)
