Just a wet dream.

Maybe stop reading MN?

50 is pretty old though, not quite elderly, but definitely getting doddery.

Someone should point out this out to Oksana Chusovitina. My role model for how to slow down heading toward 50…

Can we all just please stop joking around for a minute and discuss the very serious topic of the Mumsnetters who is very upset about the cruise her husband has planned and booked for her 30th birthday because it’s going to European cities and not hot countries. I don’t know how she will cope but if anyone could give her advice on how she can get through it or maybe advice on how to initiate divorce proceedings, I’m sure she’d be grateful.

My condolences to the Mumsnetter - it's quite likely that her husband has early onset dementia and forgot hot countries exist. As such, she sould probably log him with the cruise, similar to how you can alert airlines to unfit travellers and get her ducks in a row. Demise seems imminent.

Someone's husband hasn't come home. She has been in contact with him and he is playing board games with some people he has met.
OR IS HE?
NO! He is definitely taking cocaine and she needs to be very careful. I expect he's a secret drug running gangster

TBF, the involvement of coke would be my first assumption. But perhaps that's because I can't envisage being up all night any more, now I'm an elderly 50 year old.

Plus it’s going to a city they want to go to and they’ve talked about going on a cruise before. The selfish pig. Activate the duck protocol.

I've had to hide 'continueenablingmehole's thread. It's so infuriating!

The threads piss me off more than they should too.
It's the "well done hun" tit that I don't get.
She has a house, kids it's just standard expectations to tidy up.
How the hell did she manage to come up with the idea to paint that rainbow wall ( and do it quite well I add by herself ) but need constant threads to help her put stuff in a bin and wipe her worktops.

The place is a tip! Makes me wonder how they live when they are telling her ‘it’s really not that bad!’

No wonder they were all offended at a thread the other day where someone said super nanny said that a dirty/neglected house is one of the things social workers look for when dealing with allegations of abuse/neglect. Apparently she didn’t know what she was talking about and one doesn’t follow the other and it’s better for children to live in a dirty home than a pristine home.

She should be grateful. At 30 she could be peri menopausal and won’t want to have hot flushes in an already hot country.

My thoughts exactly! One minute she’s too useless to manage basic chores (cue all the Mumsnet aunties cooing and cajoling her like a toddler) and the next minute she’s managed to pull a full bedroom paint job out of her arse.

She’s a disaster and I feel sorry for her kids.

In the people I know, a long-running board game is far more likely than coke. But, and I cannot stress this ENOUGH, the OP knows her husband far better than a collection of total strangers and might want to exercise her own judgement rather than ask a bunch of people with no personal investment in her life.

How about the post in relationships, where she has suspicions about her husband, because he has a meeting every Friday morning and does not check his phone

Clearly he is having an affair or meeting a sex worker and she should track his phone, follow him, put an AirTag on him or hire a PI or a local mumsnetter to follow him. He couldn’t possibly just be having a regular meeting.

imagine if a man tracked or followed his wife, they would be rightfully outraged!

I listened to an excellent podcast recently which said that one reason the very rich are traditionally unbothered about their surroundings was that it was a mark of wealth to be able to afford staff to clean up/not bother with new gadgets as they had maids that could do the manual labour. So it could be that the ones we now have are just perpetuating a lifestyle that originally arose almost as a vulgar showing off of how much money they had.
