I think this is why I take such delight in people realising what they truly are/them getting what they deserve.

I don't have any issues per se with nursery nurses, the ones who looked after our children were absolutely lovely and very good at their jobs. I admired them for having the patience to do a job I could never do.

However, my actual point was that it isn't an occupation that requires any huge amount of intelligence or academic ability. It requires a different skill set and mind set, and that's why I likened them to the majority of the OD fan girls who are unable to see past the superficial hype.

I respectly disagree. You actually need to have high levels of emotional intelligence in that line of work.

I suspect many of the OD fan girls will have academic qualifications but have been suckered into the whole influencer thing....being academic doesn't necessarily correlate to having huge amounts of common sense. Take a read of the other threads here on Tattle and there are plenty of people who have academic qualifcations and well paid jobs yet have been sucked into believing Instagram hype by their own admittance.

You can be trained, educated etc but all that can give you the false pretence that you’re socially aware and know anything about the real world outside the privilege she has been privy to and currently lives in. So dim would be a very kind way to put it!

I think she is hugely privileged and was given a private education but this seems to have come with a sense of entitlement and low awareness - hence her willingness to parade her wealth, promote insecurity and make that next sale. I don't know/care if she is dim or not - she is, however, profiting out of ruthless sales tactics.

I just wanted to tell you all that reading this thread (and the many others like it) has been like reading my own thoughts. I find myself aggressively nodding along to (almost) everything I read on here. You are a beacon of hope for all the non insta famous people in the world who feel like they’re struggling with something/don’t feel insta worthy/ or are feeling crappy because of these absolutely “amazing, inspiring, beautiful” women pushing their fake and sometimes bleeping hideous lives on us every minute of the day .

My partner and I took our daughter to Latitude this past weekend- lots of families were there, all dressed in sensible clothing for camping. The odd glittery face etc but no mermaid leggings to be seen The thought of being surrounded by all that flammable material being adorned by instamums and kids at camp makes my teeth hurt. Just another way to subconsciously make people who can’t afford a £200 ticket per person plus a new wardrobe of ‘wacky festival clothing’ feel inferior.

I honestly don’t think it means inferiority, they are the inferior ones so bored with their lives they need these things to enjoy themselves and being charged £200 a ticket is brilliant, they are being ripped off and the organisers know how stupid they are and these kinda people will lap that up Also, I think if there is one place they can all hang out where we don’t have to be, great let them, better that than filling these other amazing places up.
