Michael Barrymore - death in the pool

If someone ever does develop a conscience it will be too late for Stuart Lubbock’s poor dad who continued to campaign and try to get justice for his son for the rest of his life. I don’t know how any of them sleep at night.

I agree, I don't know how they sleep at night. Even if they didn't know Stuart well or care about him or even if they don't believe that what happened was wrong, they know a crime was committed and someone lost their life, they know the police are 'interested' in what happened. How do they not feel on edge every day in case one of them breaks or new evidence is found, how do they not flinch when they hear sirens coming down their road, how do they leave the house knowing people believe they know something or did something. I don't think, even on that selfish, self-interested level, I would be able to relax never mind sleep.
---
I think the police covered things up too! Unfortunately I don’t think the truth will ever come out! Do they think he died of the anal injuries then?

I read an article a few weeks ago about AI solving cold cases, I wonder what AI would say about this case and the police work carried out and stuff like that if everything was put into whatever program solved all those cold cases.

Would really recommend this podcast if you’re interested in learning more about the case. There’s multiple episodes and it goes into the case in detail. The creator of the podcast was a friend of Stuart’s and is also a tv producer so it’s really well done.

The more I think about Barrymore, the angrier I get that he thinks he can get his career back after getting away with the brutal rape and murder of a young man. He shouldn't even be allowed on Tiktok. I was a CBB fan but I refused to watch it the year he was in it because it was disgraceful putting him on TV after that

Even if it wasn’t Micheal Barrymore himself, he’d never speak up about it now as everyone would know he’s kept this secret for all these years when he could have just told the truth at the start. & defo not whilst he’s trying to establish some form of celeb status with his stupid tik tok posts. I don’t have tik tok so haven’t actually seen any but I can imagine how cringy they are.

100% I did watch some of it and he was an outright bully.

He got away with so much bullying in his life, it was just normal for him. In some ways, I'm glad he was in CBB because it showed who he was

He (and Pete burns) were bullies in cbb especially to Jodie but also to Chantelle I remember saying at the time even if some were willing to forgive and forget they wouldn't after seeing him being vile on there. Though I'm not sure why anyone was surprised, I always thought he was a bully as a presenter.

Jodie is a raging narcissist and a professional victim. Nasty piece of work- check out her thread on here.

I'm personally not a fan of Jodie Marsh but she wasn't in the wrong in that situation, Barrymore was a real bully and someone else, maybe Dennis Rodman? Had to step in on at least one occasion. Barrymore took absolute delight in being really nasty to people in there, he's a disturbing person.

Regardless of what Jodie Marsh was / is, barrymores treatment of her (along with Pete Burns and Denis Rodman) was deeply uncomfortable. They got away with it because Jodie was seen as just a cheap lads mag Essex girl who had no value and therefore could be treated like tit by men and no one batted an eyelid. It wouldn’t fly now, it was really bad.

What I’ve always wondered is why the women haven’t spoken up, one of them was a sister so perhaps she hasn’t to protect the brother. But the women would not have been able to physically assault a man to that extent, if they knew why didn’t they speak up? Were they threatened perhaps?
Statistically women don’t engage in this type of activity or crime, I’d suggest they weren’t involved in any assault and so why not speak up? Even if they didn’t see it, they would have been able to collaborate stories

Barrymore lived in a (larger than average) bungalow, not a mansion. The women would have known what was going on and clearly turned a blind eye. They’re complicit even if they weren’t involved in the assault itself.

I used to love watching Michael Barrymore with my mum and dad years ago but after the murder of Stuart Lubbock I just couldn’t get past the fact that he legged it straight after and that everyone there that night closed ranks and let that poor family suffer further. I see him on TikTok now and I don’t see a sweet elderly man with his dog, I see someone who knows more than they are willing to say, who put saving their own skin above everything else.

It wasn't just his father and brother, Stuart had two young daughters who were four and one when he died, having recently separated from their mother. They've had to grow up not knowing who killed him and seeing his name everywhere in relation to Barrymore. I wonder what they think of the old man and his dog on TikTok.

The women had probably taken drugs or not helped Stuart when they could have so kept quiet not to implicate themselves. Not making light of anything but, if you imagine this is the plot of a tv drama, you can envisage no end of different scenarios. I think they’re all guilty- some more than others.

Yes Justin and Kylie Merritt are siblings. An article in the tabloid media from a few years' back claimed the former is living in a houseboat.

edit: sorry that's in reference to thegrumpos's post above.

That's what I was thinking, all the photos and maps of the house show it was a decent sized bungalow but not a mansion. If Stuart did indeed die due to assualt hard to believe anyone present wouldn't have twigged something amiss was going on unless they were completely out of it on substances.
