It can't have been that noisy. The aerial photos show a close neighbour and noise travels at night. There's never been anything to indicate that any neighbours heard anything. Stuart may have been drugged or gagged. If they were somewhere with no view and loud music, they may not have known at the time but they're certainly complicit now.

Ah, I didn't see that. However, considering the horrendous damage that was done to Stuart, if he were fully conscious the screaming would have gone on for a very long time unless he was unable to scream for some reason. 🥺

Yes, I think there's some truth in that they might genuinely not know so none of them feel enough guilt. Clearly all of them were behaving appallingly (drink, drugs, sex, assault, ignoring someone who is dying) so find it easy to keep quiet.

I always think of this as a plot in a novel or a film (not to downplay things but just to think about angles). A competent investigator would find a way of exposing things. Clearly it implicates the police so I suspect nothing will happen.

Can I ask, please, what is the surgery Barrymore had? I'm googling but can't find anything. Not that I don't think he's an awful person, but I just don't know where to look on this!

Yes, I don't recall him having any surgery just that he went into hiding.

In 2007 Barrymore (real name Michael Parker) tried to sue Essex Police for wrongful arrest.

Here is an extract from the court record of the judgment when Barrymore appealed the findings of an interim High Court hearing, quote:

Para 28
The second piece of information was the statement of a Police Community Support Officer dated 14 May 2007. He said that at some time between 2001 and 2006, he had been asked to take a statement from a female working at Springfield Medical Centre in Chelmsford. She had told him that, the day after the death of Mr Lubbock, Mr Parker “had a procedure on his penis” at the centre. He reported speaking again to the female on 17 May 2007. This time she admitted telling the police that she had seen Mr Parker at the centre but claimed not to remember mentioning any injury to Mr Parker’s penis because she had not looked after him during his visit; she refused to provide a statement. Off the record she confirmed that he attended the centre “at the time of the incident at [Mr Parker’s] address.”

Totally agree, it blows my mind he is managing to rebrand himself as a sweet old man who with a cute dog and people are being swayed by it.
