Michael Barrymore - death in the pool

1
I've never liked Barrymore. There was always something I couldn't put my finger on. But when this happened, my dislike deepened. He's never been co operative, he's very evasive & he left the scene of a crime for god's sake! He knows exactly what happened that night but didn't want to ruin his career.

He comes across as a man who only thinks of himself. Poor woe is me Michael. It was my house, my party, my poor career etc. He hasn't given a damn about poor Stuart's family. I felt so much for his father. I don't think he or any of his other guests will ever talk though. It's disgusting.

Poor me poor me poor me...........Pour me another drink.

Rolf Harris seems like the biggest one of all. He had the image of a total nice guy and was a national treasure.

I was shocked though by another TV presenter.

TIM VINCENT.

I grew up watching Blue Peter and he was always the smiling happy chappy.

Then around 2000 I seen him in the city centre and he seemed full of arrogance and vanity.

Nothing like his friendly TV character.

I hope he’s not earning royalties from repeats being shown!
If he is, it won’t be much.

Yep, there’s always another side to these people. On occasions, they are generally nice guys, but others believe their own hype and have massive egos, so treat others like 💩

Yeah

I mean I am not saying Tim Vincent is a Axe Murderer.

But it was like this :

On TV this no e friendly smiling chap teaching you how to make folded up paper planes with paper clips and how to throw them.

You could even use some water colours to paint the plane and give it your own image.

And he shows you how to paint it.

All so friendly and innocent.

Then in reality on Friday night around town.

Yes I AM the Real Tim Vincent.

You all recognise me.

My EGO is huge.

I have a glint of vanity in my eyes.

Yes I know your looking at me because you recognise me off the telly.

But don't approach I am not friendly and innocent in real life.

I am arrogant and conceited.

I am famous.

Look how good looking I am.

All you Ladies fancy me.

I am the number ONE man around town.

Only the most Stunning women need approach me everybody else keep your distance.

I am better than all you Normal Blokes.

I am a Sex Symbol.

I am the most High Value Guy in this tit hole Town centre and everybody should know it.

All off the back of been a Children's BBC TV presenter.

He's on Instagram now posting throwbacks that in the gaze of a modern eye are so terribly unfunny. There's one clip where he takes two bags from a woman in the audience empties them onto the floor and opens and eats her snacks while mocking her. She is visibly upset and he just goes further and further rooting through her belongings while the audience howl with laughter.

It looks like he's cross-posting to TikTok. I don't follow him but he's FOREVER on my FYP (for you page).

How long was he on television for? He wasn’t someone I really watched.m, but I was aware of him. I remember when he left his wife and came out.

The people who commissioned his programmes and let him get away with nasty behaviour were encouraging him.

Who is showing repeats? 😡
He was a big deal back in the day, and was on Prime time Saturday night at the height of his fame in Strike it Lucky ( in the days when we didn’t have many TV channels, 3 or 4, yep hard to believe now isn’t it ).
I never actually thought he was that funny or that talented, if anything he was quite embarrassing to watch, as he wasn’t always that quick witted. His thing was mainly embarrassing people by jumping all over them and trying to make them look silly. Oh yes, he also did a Basil Fawlty impersonation. That’s about it. It worked ( somehow ) back in the day, as also did people like Freddy Starr and Jimmy Saville, but those people would have been washed up years ago now regardless of anything else now anyway.

That is exactly why I didn't like him. His act was humiliating or embarrassing people while he lapped up the laughter from the audience. It was embarrassing to watch at times. I wish he would just go away.

@Minxmonx just read your post. Its what I was trying to say but you explained it better 😅

he spent 16 years as a major ITV face 1986-2002

SIXTEEN YEARS TOO MANY

his first vehicle for Thames in 1983 flopped

he finally became a major name when Strike It Lucky started in 86

and that really signalled the slow death of TV entertainment to the shiithousery it is now

bar Stephen Mulhern and the equally excellent Bradley Walsh and Paul O Grady

I hated the way ITV used to continually wheel out MB for nearly any LE show that needed a presenter in the 90s

I even seem to remember his college Bruce Forsyth calling him out in the papers for his behaviour

and that he,d never do the Barrymore brand of humour
