Michael and Dave Kay #13 You can call a dead channel something else but it's still dead

The thing is, Michael has NEVER been an open book. Even back when he did his 50 things about me videos, he really always gave super top level information. Even when he shared family photos, it was only Disney photos. He used to tell his viewers that his job was to talk to companies about work, life balance. I always thought, oh, that makes sense since he seemed to get so much vacation time. Work, life balance. Obviously we all know now he lied. I understand not wanting to give the public personal info, but to completely make up your job...ok then. We will never get one ounce of realness from Mikey.

He thinks by not sharing he's adding mystery to his channel and gets people taking and gets more views.
 
I just wanted to chime in to say that whether it’s Michael or someone else making these snarky replies, they are incredibly lame. Seriously, talk about some horrible comebacks. Whoever you are, since you most likely read here, just know that you suck. Not to mention, most of this stuff is just constructive criticism and doesn’t even warrant a snarky reply.

That being said, I think this may actually be the one way to save the channel: Michael must fully activate dark mode. Time for some videos of him drinking and smoking, insulting people, fighting, visiting strip clubs, etc.
 
Yeah Michael has always been cagey. Like we never knew he lived with his mom in MD. Stuff like that. Although back then, I think it was less annoying because he was just vlogging his trips (and he was entertaining).

I think it’s why his channel ultimately failed. You have to let viewers in just a little bit.

Mr Morrow's last video is him and his friends getting drunk and partying in EPCOT. 10/10 would watch again

Since Claire has a red hotline direct to Michael and has spoken on his behalf many times, it wouldn't surprise me. Or it's PF and she is making her voice heard. Just my 2 cents.

This was my thought too: it's probably Claire. She seems both uber loyal and capable of snark. I'm assuming Dr Fiance is too busy with finishing up her residency to spend time on something as pedestrian as responding to Michael's YT critics. Well if she has half a brain she'll stay well out of that mess. Otoh she's marrying Prince Schlemiel so maybe I'm giving her intellect too much credit! But I bet it's Claire.

OMG! I like this! I'm imagining Michael having a few alcoholic beverages & then taking to the comment section with snarky comments. He didn't learn you shouldn't drink & get on social media. That would be epic. Can we get a drunken food review from Mikey? I would watch that.
 
It just shows that Michael cannot handle any type of criticism, let alone any type of difference of opinion. He could comment “I appreciate the feedback, thanks for watching”, “I will keep that in mind”, or simply, ignore the comment. I give him credit for not deleting them like he normally does, but this doesn’t make help his case at all. Making dick comments isn’t getting people to like you more.

More like one drink. Wasn’t he was afraid of alcohol?
 
I understand when someone wants privacy like he seems to, but the mistake is that he made the channel about him and his experiences. When you do that, I think you have to appreciate that your viewers want to relate to you.

Sad to say, but this new direction fits his desire for privacy better. I think it will doom his channel (to the extent it is not already doomed), because people did not sign up for that.
 
I know this is a retread but having a comment last 1 day on a Michael video is gold. Getting a response is heaven. I guess the “hot now” light was on a Krispy Kreme when I posted Kelly. I hope those 13 thumbs up were from trolls

Here's something I've been wondering, did Michael's GF/ fiance talk him into changing the channel? It certainly seems that way, but we also know that Michael can't take any medicine feedback and only listens to Mommy and the Kaykateers singing his praises. I wonder how she got through to him.

Although there had already been a shift in his videos leading up to the Alaskan cruise, very shortly after the Alaskan cruise is when he went on his hiatus. He supposedly proposed on that cruise. It’s possible that the doctor had been in his ear before then but after getting engaged, she may have just been like, “seriously, now that we’re getting married can you knock some of this tit off for real?” As for why he would have listened, he probably realized that his numbers were tanking anyway and he didn’t want to jeopardize the relationship which seemingly has Mama Kay’s stamp of approval.

I also want to put forward the theory that maybe some of the things said on this site were starting to get to him. It seems like as of late I see more and more acknowledgement of the things said on this site from disgruntled Patrons, the people with that weird podcast, etc. Could it be that it got a little too hot in the kitchen for him?

I don't disagree, but I'm even talking longer back. Going back 12 months, the vids have been less about Michael's head in every frame and more green screens, stock footage, and voice overs. Could just be coincidence.

He's been salty ever since he got kicked off Disney's media invite list. That was, I believe, around the time the Galatic Starcruiser opened. When was that? Last spring? I can't remember. Or maybe it was after his idiot brother outed Mike's lying about being vaxxed for their cruise. He seemed to start really nursing a grudge at Disney after those events. He stopped going to the parks daily...or even frequently. He got into golf, visited some other non Disney park attractions (Peppa Pig land, Gatorland, for example), had his ridiculous flirtation with run (in his case walk) Disney. He has been desperately (but unsuccessfully) trying to conceal his butthurt. He's been moving toward where he is now for months, at least.

But yeah I also have to believe the future Mrs. Kay wants him to put the kabosh on his wild, sugar-fueled theme park squealathons.
