I don't live anywhere near Dublin. There's a lot more to the country than Dublin, you know I think we're getting a bit off-topic here.
Now.......
that’s something a cork person would say
I’m only joking with you

She definitely should be more racial aware ,there is a massive difference in NI and ROI in this area you'd be very surprised x I was.good point.
mel is full of bull tit.
we know the area she lives in and the school she went to, she acts like there were no black people in her life.
it’s simply not true.
and she’s wondering why black authors don’t get book deals,
Because white influencers get them.
Louise Pentland,
Laura Jane Williams,
Zoe sugg,
Melanie Murphy.
Not worthy of a book deal, but got one regardless.
Oh no I didn’t take any offense. It is predominantly a white country and in the last few years, Ireland has opened opportunities for immigrants. Whereas in US and UK, immigrants have been residing for quite a while and are now citizens. So the immigrants residing here, their kids go to school in Ireland. I’m sure schools and universities in this day and age have enough multicultural students compared to few years ago.Sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive. I know that there are non-White people living here. But it's still a predominantly white country. I'm 31 and there was one non-White person in my primary school, my secondary school was white people only. People my age grew up with only white friends.
I get the feeling that she has no friends, white or otherwise. I can't think of any other influencer I follow that posts zero about their friends.
I completely agree with this. Although I'm privileged to have never experienced it myself, we were taught about racism from an early age, through the likes of Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Give Racism The Red Card campaign, my parents would also elaborate if there was a racially motivated crime reported on the news and teach us about their oppression. I can't say I'm not aware of it so I don't see how she is.How can a grown woman be so blind to the issues at hand? How has she lived in a "bubble of privilege" and not realised how bad things are until now?
At my school, we learnt about it all in our English classes. We talked about America, racial segregation, Rosa Parks, etc. At my school, they wanted to make sure we were aware of these issues - as 15 year olds - and make sure we realise how unfair this world is in so many ways and that we need to do better. We read the book Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin which is a book I can't recommend enough. Opened my eyes and those of my classmates. I have been following these issues closely ever since first learning about them in school.
How she chose to live in her bubble when it's no secret stuff like this has been going on for way way way too long is beyond me.
What also irked me is her stating that when she looks at her bookshelf she doesn't see many black authors represented. How? She states she LOVES books and reading all the time.I completely agree with this. I'm sure what the black community is waiting for is for Melanie to represent them in her novellistening to her stories you would be forgiven for thinking she was in her 60 and had lived her life in rural Ireland.
how are none of her Irish followers calling her out. The narrative she’s painting of her area is a full on lie.
add to that DCU has a large variety of students from all backgrounds, religions and races.
so where are her black friends?
Where are her mixed race friends or Muslim friends, I don’t think she’s racist I just think she doesn’t make friends.
she inserted herself into the gay/bi/lqbtq community because it was content and it gave her a sense of belonging.
now she’s desperate to be accepted by the black/POC community.
this isn’t about Melanie, it shouldn’t be about Melanie, but Melanie is making it ALL ABOUT MELANIE.
melanie the infla-author........ let me know how to write for the black community
let ME know how I can improve MY WRITING....
MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME....MY BOOK, MY CHARACTER.
All about Mel.
I'm sure what the black community is waiting for is for Melanie to represent them in her novel
... not
Kate, what if it's Melanie? She's might be using a dummy account?Hi guys,
I don't know how many of you watch my Twitter or followed me. For the time being I private and blocked some accounts on there.
I have received threats from one anon account for trying to amplify a WOC.
It appears some people have a problem with me being an ally and sharing the truth.
Nothing on that Twitter page is made up stories but a collection of screenshots. If people are panicking and threatening over the truth that's deflecting their own guilt and fear of being seen as they are.
To borrow a quote.... My social media is my home and I will put whatever I want up, and weed out the racists who don't like it.
This isn't really about me. This is about the WOC who were yet again silenced online for sharing their truths and let us not forget how they must feel today.
Her Instagram stories today make me sick.
Hope you all are doing Good!
She's so fake! Melanie loves travelling plus she's into social media world = internet. So there's no way she never watched, heard ,read news/ stories about racism and hate crimes. How can a grown woman be so blind to the issues at hand? How has she lived in a "bubble of privilege" and not realised how bad things are until now?

It probably is her ,especially if she's reading here why would one person target Kate for speaking the truth..Kate, what if it's Melanie? She's might be using a dummy account?

Before the incident about George Floyd , modern racism/ discrimination is utterly rampant everywhere. Even ants or bugs are aware of it.
She managed to research about sex toys and vaginismus (which is a lame researching) but she never tried to be aware about racism.
Melanie is hopeless, I guess.
Until now, she cannot accept that she's busted for her BBC scam and muting WOC.It probably is her ,especially if she's reading here why would one person target Kate for speaking the truth..
Or she has told someone (I'm not gonna say any names ) to do it for her.Until now, she cannot accept that she's busted for her BBC scam and muting WOC.
When I was still reading Guru Gossip thread about Melanie, someone mentioned that she loves creating dummy accounts and joins different threads/ forums.
