I was just reading there it's the 4th anniversary of the Orlando nightclub shootings and it reminded me of a Melanie story and when I stopped following her. Does anyone else remember this? When her YouTuber friend faked an attack?

It was a few weeks after Orlando so the gay community was still reeling and there was a lot of stuff about gay rights in the media, fundraisers etc. Melanie was in LA for one of those youtuber things with her friend Calum McSwiggan. Calum got talking to some lad in or outside a gay club and went off to a carpark with him and then alleged he was set upon and beaten by the guy and his friends in a homophobic attack. I followed Melanie on snapchat at the time and remember she posted snaps of them out and then one with her SOBBING that Calum had been attacked and police were involved but she couldn't say anything else. I remember thinking it was an extremely odd thing to do - she pulled her phone out and opened Snapchat and filmed herself crying into her phone while her friend was hurt and in danger?!

Anyway, I kept an eye on social media after that to see what happened. Calum uploaded a photo of himself in a hospital bed with some lesions on his face, I can't exactly remember what but it got a lot of traction cos of the Orlando events at the time. But he was also not believed by the police and that's why Melanie said she couldn't talk about it, lawyers were involved. She stuck by him throughout and they remain friends but the real story soon emerged.

Calum was drunk and belligerent. He globbed on to some guy from the club and walked to a Carpark with his friends and when he turned down Calum's advances, he became violent and attacked a car belonging to one of the guys friends. I think they tried to calm him down but he kicked off the cars wing mirrors and other things and they called the police on him. When he was arrested he claimed he had been attacked by the group but the police couldn't see any injuries. He was arrested for criminal damage and in the police station was demanding that he was allowed to call his dad (to bail him out, I guess). I can't remember the exact ins and outs but he basically hurt himself and caused his own facial injuries to get out of police custody and into a hospital. The injuries he showed on his Instagram post were from his self inflicted injuries while in police custody. I think he was advised to accept his charges and his parents paid his fine and he flew home but maintained his innocence. He was exposed and the gay community largely turned their backs on him for trying to capitalise on the horrendous tragic events of Orlando - he used a tragedy to cover his own poor behaviour and to get social media likes essentially.

The most annoying thing is, if we are ever fortunate enough to see Melanie Murphy delete her public social media and YT, we’d still have her sister who makes exactly the same kind of non-sense content. Honestly its embarrassing how she looks up to Melanie for inspiration and copy everything she does. She has the same habit of making up diseases and intolerances. I don’t know why I ended up watching one of her videos recently and all she talked about was her being lactose intolerant all the while gulping down dairy! Both of the sisters need to duck off the internet for the sake of teenagers they’re influencing.
 
Just noticed Melanie follows loeppksylife on insta...for those who don't know who that is she's a super Christian like no sex before marriage and married at like 19 with two kids by 23 she's very into thift shopping and buying her kids basically only clothes that fit her style...probably living the life that Melanie wanted

so she’s STILL not writing the type of fantasy bull tit she’s desperate to write because her editor has TOLD her she needs to write for her basic witch teen market.

it’s very clear she’s forcing a story out to hit her target, and what’s also very clear is she has no original ideas.
She preaches about trying to force a story that fits the current market or a story that will sell.
But that’s exactly what she’s doing writing for a genre she has no interest writing for.

YA fantasy is so different from the trash she’s producing, she really said she found Tolkien’s writing a bit difficult to read 🤣 calm down Oscar Wilde 🤣😂
her writing is anything but “clean”
It’s clunky and difficult to read and,
I will say it again,
forced,
she has no talent,
it’s forced.

A retelling of Romeo and Juliet with lesbians 😐
A retelling of the secret garden with siblings that don’t get on.

she has no original thoughts at all.
And no self awareness if she believes she’s sold any books based on talent.

it was bleeping given away on line twice and 99c during a lockdown. 😂
