Yes she was on a uk and Ireland stand up tour, how she is making a career out of comedy I’ll never knowDidn’t she have “comedy” shows in the millennium forum recently? Didn’t hear anything about them. I’d rather watch paint dry, personally.

Same I just don’t find her funny. She doesn’t seem to be on the proper NI comedy scene with all the usual comedians, you never see her on their podcasts or on their stand up line ups, and they are usually very good at supporting their own. Makes you wonder if she’s being taken seriously at all by the comedy scene here
Serious balls especially when you are absolute tit craicI'd say there's more than a wee dose of sexism going on there. Women really struggle to break through in comedy. Fair play to Serena, she did it online and then had a sell out tour across the UK and Ireland, and a Sunday Times bestselling book. It doesn't really matter if it's your sense of humour or not, she deserves a bit of credit for putting herself out there and making a career for herself. That takes serious balls.
I’m not sexist, I don’t find her the slightest bit funny at all. Nothing to do with her sex whatsoever. To say something “takes serious balls” is actually pretty sexistI'd say there's more than a wee dose of sexism going on there. Women really struggle to break through in comedy. You've picked me up wrong - there is a fair dose of sexism within the NI comedy scene. And in comedy in general. There was a query as to what she wasn't part of the crowd of NI comedians - and part of that reason is sexism. Fair amount of egos there too, and gate-keeping. The NI arts scene is cliquey as duck.I’m not sexist, I don’t find her the slightest bit funny at all. Nothing to do with her sex whatsoever. I have. Just stumbled across this thread. Don't know who half the people you're talking about are though. All the letters and clues aren't helpingAnyone been to her shows?
A friend thought the same, said it was great!I have. Just stumbled across this thread. Don't know who half the people you're talking about are though. All the letters and clues aren't helping
I don't find her videos all that funny... Relatable yes, funny no. Her stand up show was brilliant though. Really funny! Didn't know what to expect but was very good!
Never heard of that wan Doherty , can’t stand Nuala she tries too hard..Love GMHP though .Nuala McKeever (give my head peace as well as her own shows)
Diona Doherty (she was in Soft Border Patrol)
That's all I can think of off top of my head.
I find her v funny. Loved her in Derry Girls too (she was the girl from Chernobyl staying with Erin).Love diona Doherty but given she’s also a fellow Derry woman she never mentions mammy banter.
Yeah she did. Didn't see much about them..saw people post they were going but nothing after. Probably didn't want to say it was shite lol.Didn’t she have “comedy” shows in the millennium forum recently? Didn’t hear anything about them. I’d rather watch paint dry, personally.
Anyone who writes a book is Sunday times best selling. Having this by your name is cringe at this point. Any one of us can go now and publish a book. It's not a bit deal anymore. I enjoy Diona, I would listen away to her podcast and I’ve seen her live a few times in a few things. she’s greatI find her v funny. Loved her in Derry Girls too (she was the girl from Chernobyl staying with Erin).
That’s not a critics piece. Says nothing about the actual show, it’s just an article of fluff. Reads more like a PR piece than anything elseCritics seem impressed View attachment 2293788 qView attachment 2293790 q
