I think it is for all nurses though right? I absolutely think she was inspired/influenced by Bev though. Way too many similar methods 😣

Its like when she went on training course, about giving IV medicines, and they were very clear on how dangerous air embolism were. The teachers are trying to highlight the dangers never thinking they will be giving a potential killer ideas. 😔

Hopefully we hear a lot more detail like this that was absent from the first trial. It’s very similar to the sentiments expressed by all those unfortunate enough to work alongside evil

Want to say that the coverage has been amazing so far but that will probably jinx it won’t it 😬

The Guardian are also reporting live:

Thirlwall told the inquiry that doubts cast on Letby’s convictions have come “entirely from people who were not at the trial” as she opened the inquiry at the Countess of Chester hospital’s neonatal unit where Letby was a nurse between 2015 and 2016.

Maybe they'll stop giving those people airtime in future then...but probably not!

Like that Mark added Dr Sandie Bohin, is a currently practicing neonalist, as there has been a lot of criticism in the media of Dr Evans for being retired.
What the simps fail to mention is that Dr Hall who Myers used was also retired. It doesn't mean they are unsuitable as witnesses.

I realise Dr Hall didn't give evidence but Myers used him to throughout the trial.

The vast majority of expert witnesses are retired from their field because being an expert witness is almost completely incompatible with having another job (and often a private life!). Expert witnesses are of course usually older because you don’t tend to become an expert overnight. They are just total thickos aren’t they. The next thing they like to criticise is that people get paid for expert witness work.. because people should be forced to give up huge amounts of their time, life and knowledge for free 🤪🤡😵‍💫

Don't follow these threads, but walk by the Town Hall on my way to work most days; this morning there were about 8 or 9 journalists outside as well as a large police van and a few police outside the entrance to the TH, too.

For context, a few weeks ago there were anti-immigration riots happening at the same spot and an hour before there were zero police presence. I wonder if they were expecting some kind of unrest today.

Probably worried the "Not guilty brigade" would turn up and upset the parents/ witnesses.

I am so pleased to see Lady Justice Thirlwall acknowledging the ridiculous speculation about the guilt of Letby, and how these stories continue to cause untold distress to the families of the babies.

Me just noticing there is a video link on the bbc 😵‍💫

Me too! I didn't think it would be televised for some reason, but I think it's important that everyone can see this, given Letby was able to commit these crimes in a public healthcare setting. I think it will also avoid potential misreporting of the evidence given.

I wonder if Letby is allowed to listen in to the inquiry ?

This is stood out for me this morning from one of the Drs on the unit.
She did consider whether insulin could have been delivered deliberately: “but this seemed absurd and ridiculously unlikely so the tests being wrong seemed the only possible explanation.”
She added inn her police statement that: “with hindsight I should have flagged up this unexpected result.”

Imagine that poor Dr is going to have to live with that forever, what if she had raised it she could have been stopped earlier.

Keep thinking of the poor triplets growing well in the womb, while all these medical professionals were trying and failing to remove a murderer. I always felt so sorry for baby P, he appears to have been left alone until his brother died and then she immediately moved on to attacking him. This must be horrendous for the parents listening to all this, they trusted their babies would be kept safe.

Given it’s been reported a witness has already been physically attacked by a Letby supporter then yes I presume they are being cautious about safety for those attending.
