I am in no way insinuating he is an abuser, I want to clear that up, (when love bombing was mentioned I wasn’t thinking of it in the more serious context of abuse)
But I am of the opinion he is manipulating the girls to stay in as long as possible, but the structure of the show almost encourages that behaviour I guess 😬 as much as I like this show I hate myself for it because if I give it too much thought I find many aspects of it so problematic.
 
The media are the first to accuse love island contestants of being things i.e love bomber/abuser and then also the first to kick off when something tragic happens without taking a drop of responsibility.

It is a game show this is literally the point of the show. I don’t think he’s manipulating anyone he’s saying right things at the right times to stay in the show. Same as all the other contestants?

Being manipulative and being abusive are very different things. Didn't like that love bombing comment either. I think it's obvious Brad genuinely likes Lucinda. And as someone said he never claimed to be head over heels for Rachel. She was more his type was what he said and at that point he was up against one other guy to either stay or go home so of course he flirted and PLAYED THE GAME, as did chuggs!

That's the thing though isn't it!! It does encourage it, I wouldn't say it's the "healthiest" environment to find love in by a long stretch 😂

Thanks, the article is overboard but it just highlighted the intensity he was coming onto Lucinda for me.
The whole show is full of manipulators who are in it to for collabs and to stay in for as long as possible to win a cash prize! I don't think it brings out the best in people.

Yep, aware it’s a game show, that’s literally what I have said in my post…the format of the show encourages that behaviour (although the original point of the show was to find ‘love’ not just to stay on the show for as long as possible by pulling the wool over other peoples eyes)
But what you have said there is describing a manipulation tactic, being aware of ‘saying the right thing at the right time’ to someone is manipulation - I also think Jake and Sharon (to an extent) are behaving in a similar way, but I don’t get the same impression from the others, I feel they are in it (maybe not solely though) because they want to get a relationship out of it…but as I have said, it’s just my opinion.

And they are all so smooth! I can never get over how smooth and clear all of their skin looks…makes me wonder if they use a smoothing filter on the camera’s (is that even a possibility!?) If not then I am in awe and need to know what body creams they all use!
 
The love island spoilers Instagram page is interesting... and the first look.
Do we think Toby and Chloe will last much longer after this?
I really hope the boys win tonight’s task so a new female comes in and I really hope Hugo is her type. If not then I don’t see Hugo lasting much longer

Can’t decide who I think has left between Lucinda and Brad? There is a scene on the Instagram page of Faye crying and saying she can’t stand fake... a few people think that maybe Brad left and now Lucinda tried to crack on with teddy.. who knows

But everyone is saying the right thing at the right time to stay in the show and have done on every single series. None of them are in it for love they’re looking for fame and PLT deals.

True ive been watching series 1 and even then they played the game - I forget which episode it was but those twins came in and it shook the boys so they all planned together who to pick at recoupling and acted on it by flirting with girls they hadn't even looked at and saying oh I love fancied you from the start bla bla bla.

I agree that after the first couple of series’ then the contestants are in there mainly to raise their profiles/earning ability, but I do think it’s also obvious that alongside that SOME of them genuinely do want to find someone (why they believe that show is the best way to do that is beyond me though 😆🤦🏻‍♀️) the fact that there have been some lasting relationships is proof of that, that and a bit of luck! 😆
I understand that people don’t see it the same way I do but I think the way he was with Rachel is what I take issue with, (rightly or wrongly) he made her think he was really into her so she would pick him, had a fumble under the sheets and then went cold on her the next day…
