As a newbie watching, the biggest surprise is how little Laura Whitmore is in it! There was so much hype about her flying over, replacing Caroline etc, I thought she would be on it every night? As for the husband, can't stand his voice over Surely there is no need for the 2 of them? Would 1 not suffice?

It's good there is so little of Laura. I used to like her but the way she is on twitter and things I've read on her thread she is too much. I like iain tbf I'm sure people could prove me wrong but I have always liked him.

To be fair Caroline wasn’t in it every night was she? I had read somewhere that they were trying to limit how much Laura goes in because of covid but not sure how true that is!

I’ve seen a lot of people on Twitter talking about how they’re just gonna pretend to fancy her now and that they’re types are petite blondes etc, I really think we should take these ‘types’ with a pinch of salt, because in reality it doesn’t really mean anything.. my ‘type’ would be the standard ‘tall, dark and handsome.. with a beard’ but I’ve dated beardless men, blonde men, black men and my boyfriend is 5”10. My boyfriend would say his type is blonde, but he definitely finds black women and Asian women attractive

Why is Chloe suddenly 100% more attractive now? I'm mean physically, not just because she saved Hugo. Maybe faces need to grow on me a bit? Kind of feel the same way about Faye.

I haven’t laughed at a single joke he’s made.. I am wondering if the whole show has had its day a little at this point.

I agree! Loved Iain in the past, but he's just not hitting the mark with any of the jokes at the moment. The one about choosing pulled pork or a veggie option last night was just not at all funny. Laughed way more at comments on here!

Maybe he just needs more time to build the in jokes and silly comments? I hope it's that and not that they're now so wary of being called out for not "being kind" that he's saying absolutely nothing cheeky at all- part of the deal of LI is that you get roasted by Iain, and it used to be a great part of the show's balance! His banter made it light hearted and he made fun of some of the more ridiculous concepts. Without that it runs the risk of the cringiness running way too high!

Late to the party, didn't realise there was a LI thread DOH. (Probably) unpopular opinions so far, I actually love Faye, can't understand why people hate Chloe so much and I really don't rate Hugo. He isn't bad as such, but I don't get the hype. I think he's a bit of a prat personally, especially the way he's ignored Sharon and blamed it on "no time". Plenty of time for the boys aye Hugo? I wanted to love Brad but frankly he can get in the bin after the way he treated Faye in that challenge. Fair enough kiss Chloe for fancying her the most, but picking Faye as least was disrespectful beyond belief. Not surprised he hasn't been with anyone since '19.

I also can't bleeping stand Laura Whitmore, or Iain tbf. Maura would be an amazing presenter!

Totally agree. I only watch Celebs Go Dating to listen to Rob Beckett roasting the celebs. Without that it would be unwatchable!

What's the point of putting 2 black girls in the house if they are only casting men who prefer blonde girls? Yet, even the blonde girls are struggling ironically yet they think having black girls is a good idea? This is some fake diversity act by the show.

But overall, it seems like this year, no one is really anyone's type. Hence why all the couples lack chemistry. No one seems to be really into eahcother. The casting is a shambles.

Maybe the most convincing is Sharon and Aaron , but even they look like they're forcing it. I'm not convinced by their coupling

I don't think Faye is a bad girl, she just has some shocking fillers and plastic surgery.
I think Chloes hate comes from her promo video and then when she first came into the villa she put on that 'sexy' voice which seemed to have disappeared since then, thank god.
I think Hugo is probably the most likable male in there and people feel sorry for him because no one stepped forward and he is being painted as a Dr Alex but I think he is a world away from Dr Alex.
Oh my god when Brad choose Faye as the least attractive, that was so mean. Its the fact that he was coupled up with her at the time, he probably thought it was a 'lad' move and found it funny.
I have no strong opinions or feelings towards any of the islanders as of now but its still early! Maura has been mentioned as a potential great host for LI multiple times on this thread.. Petition to get Maura to host love island anyone?

I wonder do the producers have it set in stone which Islanders are going in next or is it flexible. I think they may have thrown Rachel in so two boys (whos type is blondes) will have to pathetically scramble and pretend to be into her so they can stay in the villa.
I find it entertaining to watch the desperate grafting they do when they know their place in the villa is in trouble.

I get where you’re coming from, I can relate in terms of who I’m in a relationship with also. I think it’s more palpable though given this is a bubble and there have been plenty of talks about types within the first week. A lot of black women on my Twitter have expressed the view and I think they’re justified in thinking that these men fake their attraction to stay in the villa. It’s very obvious that both of their types are petite blondes and for some, it does mean something (see Jake). I’m not saying that they won’t be attracted to the opposite of their type, but at the end of the day, if their type and someone that isn’t their type were next to each other, I’m sure their type would win.

An ex Islander would be my preference. The thing Caroline had was that she felt like the type of person who could have been on Love Island and was like a big sister type figure. Laura Whitmore is married and has a baby, so it's not really the same. Whereas someone like Maura has been there and done that. She'd be great at swaggering in too in slow motion!

I actually think Emily Atack would be a good host for it! You could see her on it for sure!
