S2 and S3 seemed to be the peak, and you could clearly see that the cast of S2 actually wanted to be there and enjoy the experience. Now it's just set up scenes with bleeping stupid cover songs in the background and a bunch of people trying their hardest for a PLT deal

Ugh the way Hugo speaks is so contrived and focussed on appearing as the nice guy. It just irks me. Can literally see the cogs turning when he knows the attention/cameras are on him

what would have happened here (and this is my theory) kaz would have come over after the boys convo and obviously it would have been filmed but they just didnāt show it because nothing interesting happened. And love island always show them getting up after their conversation with music over it, basically what Iām trying to say is it was probably just bad editing, continuity mistake perhaps?
I think we need to remember that we only see a small snippet of everything that happens over the 24 hours. But that being said I still think love island is a little scripted

Hugo is clearly the producer's fave. It's really unfair.
I think love island producers have just tried to replicate a lot of the islanders this year based on the success of other seasonsā¦ for example Hugo and dr Alex and Faye and Olivia Atwood. I wish they would just āhireā people cos they will actually be good craic instead

I don't think he gets he's not like the other lads or maybe he does and just tries too hard.ngl i dont get the motivation behind a guy like hugo going on the show if he has a girlfriend at home.. like is he after a plt deal or what do guys as dry as him actually get a career out of this show?

What I have issue with regarding Hugo is how he changes the way he speaks when heās around the POC male islanders.
- on the first coupling when Laura Whitmore was there, he said āmy bruddaā to Aaron
- when talking about the swerved kiss with Aaron and Lucinda he was in a group with Teddy, Aaron and Toby (?) and said āman left his bean bag bruvā
- last night he called Tyler ābrotherā
I just think itās bizarre that he only speaks this way to the black or mixed Islanders but speaks like a posh boy to everyone else.

hugo is just dr Alex - Iāve thought that from the start. Heās not looking for anyone I honestly think that he thinks heās too good for them all. His mouth also bugs me when he talks. God knows why.
jake - I seen a TikTok that a guy posted saying he was seeing a guy for a while and its one of the guys in love island. Probs not true but Iāve now convinced myself itās jake. He seems way more obsessed with getting into bed with the guys than he does with being with lib.
Chloe - I kinda like her. I think itās because she seems so scatty and off her face constantly that she just made me laugh and although Ian hasnāt been that funny this season. I do think his joke about her being in the cupboard when Toby went to get a biscuit was funny.

To be honest I'm kind of on Hugo's side regarding a potential partner. The guy is obviously switched on and will be fully aware the production team are setting him up by throwing in this English rose traditional blonde for him. May be he wants to be able to pick his own match , and if he's not feeling it fair play hes not just keeping them sweet to coast to the final. He'll understand fully that his time will shortly be up if he hasn't got a solid coupling up.
Maybe he is fussy and looking for that special type, so why just pretend or force something that isn't there just for the benefit of others..
